Good luck to her. That tends to be quite an easy recovery compared with other joint replacements. I suspect it will be a relief to have it done.
She has been virtually immobile for nearly a year with the hip acting up. She got new knees (2) 11 years ago, and is happy with them. Thanks for the good luck!

My dad was in a power chair for years until double hip replacements.

While I may not be expecting miracles... I do think it will be fun to play with! Time for some doughnut bokeh!
I bought one of those brand new, back in the film days. Lightweight it was easy to handle and produced som great images.

It also worked great on my istDL, and K10D, but not so well on my K5IIs or K-1.

On the latter cameras I just can’t get the focus right.

Not actually my acquisition, but my wife received a brand new hip joint last Thursday morning at 7:35.

A nice clean Vivitar Series 1 100-500mm f5.6-8 for Nikon AI-s with caps and a skylight filter for £15
The Vivitar is actually pretty good - resolution is better than the generic 500mm f8 T-mount lens I've been using as my long lens; as with all pre-AF lenses on modern Nikon bodies there's no metering or focus confirm, which is a bit of a pain, but it's good enough I'm considering getting a Dandelion chip and keeping it for my own use. Some pictures here:

Pentax K-AC132 AC adapter clone for the K-1. Also works on the K-3 and K-5. AUD $34 delivered via eBay. Should be useful (but another non-standard, non USB plug to deal with ). Works fine, original Pentax version is $99 and out of stock at the distributor.

This morning I was surprised to see I won an auction on a metal Takumar hood for 100mm f/4 and 105mm f/2.8 lenses. I put a low bid on it just before going to bed but expected to be outbid.

Another Black MESuper, this one CLA’ed by Eric in 2017 and in better cosmetic condition than the beater I bought last month that was broken but looked good in the product shots. Impact damage was enough to break the shutter and viewfinder assembly, but wasn’t visible from the outdside. Still isn’t visible in the product shots.

DK what I’ll do with the extra one I’ll have now.

8 more unused Kodak Snap Cap reloadable 35mm film cassettes

These are getting harder to find.

Thank you. I’ve had it repaired and I’ll keep it as a backup. Happens once in a while.
