Two thrift store finds ... for 1€ a dead battery Fuji DL-200 and for 3€ a working Canon Prima Tele (Autoboy) with case and a good battery plus a roll of shot film in it. I always destroy this type of film find ...

The Fuji has a "battery set" which must be dealer replaced (great idea), but I will see if I can whip something up ... and what's really cool about the Canon is that you can put it into a half-frame mode. See the "shutters" closed and it's the yellow tab which actuates this function ... you cannot change it in mid-roll.

Last but not least, some new goodies for the Mamiya M645 ... a CDS prism and a Sekor C 35/3.5 N which translate to a 22mm lens in 135 format. The excellent prism was from Ffordes for a very reasonable priced and the 35mm was "cheap" off of UK eBay since it has just the tiny, almost unnoticeable spot of fungus on the front element. Not even enough to justify an intervention by my books.

Compact film cameras are not really my thing but that is one sweet looking Mamiya!

Merci !

I really like the size and light weight of the Mamiya M645 with its waist-level finder on ... and even with the prism it's OK.

I also really appreciate my Pentax 645, but it's not a camera that I would take for a long walk ... just too much weight (6 AA batteries) and I really do not need a light meter. It would have been nice if Pentax had made a 645 like this Mamiya or a maybe a Hassy ...

I have just made an offer on a bunch of film era stuff that was accepted. Pentax Z-10 camera with Pentax 28-80mm and 100-300mm lenses, AF-330FTZ and AF-500FTZ flashes. The deal even includes a bag. Not bad for about $40!

The Z-10 won't see much if any use. I already have a Pentax 28-80mm but this one is a different color. I had a 100-300mm but it is broken. It will be good to have one again. I was pleasantly surprised by just how sharp some of my old photos were that I took with it when I looked through my archives last year. The AF-500FTZ may only work in manual mode on a DSLR but the built-in slave makes it wonderful for strobist work. This will be my second one. I don't know how useful the AF-330FTZ will be. It could serve to trigger the two AF-500FTZ's if I mount it on the camera.

I will be picking it up next week. Should be good.

I guess I'm not the only one with a new mobile device!

I just got my ThinQ G8 - cute little thing, good update from my Samsung S5 (4 year-old?)... My S5 just gave up, too slow for today's processing power needs - I couldn't do google maps while bluetoothing phone and music.

Funny note- the G8 allows you to "manually" set the camera - I had a good chuckle when I saw this.

today...… arrived by post...agfa solina 135 film camera with 40/f3.5 leaf shutter everything seems to function (the self timer is wicked slow though but won't use it often if at all)

also at sutherland's photo 'brick & mortar' purchased a working GE dw-48 light meter which inspired me to take apart a dw-58 I already have and turns it functions exactly the same as the dw-48 after reassembling!!

sweet day! woot sorry no pics to post

Impulse buy - I wanted a second K series lens (already have a 55/1.8), as they seem to be kinda under the radar (at least to me). Came across a K 50/4 and decided to go for it. Reviews seem to say it is good. But not much examples around here (I did look in the K club thread).

This will be my 6th 50mm Macro lens, so definitely a 'want' rather than 'need' moment here.

I have this lens. It is my favourite. Check out Pepperberry Farms thread, Prime, Prime everywhere a prime.

You could do those ones where you just cross your eyes.

Thank you, Indeed we do have the A 50mm f2.8 in common. Alhough the K f4 is my favourite, the A f2.8, would be my desert island lens if only for the extra stop and A setting convenience.

Because I hate lugging a 40 pound camera bag around...and because I am too porky for a vest...just sprung for a Pentax Tamron 28-300 macro...only had time to take a couple of quick shots at the post office...but think I will be pleased overall.
I have a fairly old Nikon version of that lens, still gives pretty good results. Took some test shots with my new D7000 body a few days ago:
