Two new bags. A Veer 18 inflatable bag (yep that's a thing) and a Mission Workshop Integer biking/urban backpack.

VEER Packable Bag - WANDRD

The Integer Camera Pack | MISSION WORKSHOP

Two very different animals. Expect reviews in the relatively near future!

About 4.5Kg of Drenthe Heath Sheep wool fleece.

Sent to me from across the pond by our very own member Titia who raises them. They are a very old breed with some 6,000 years of history to them. My wife is into things like spinning and weaving etc. She belongs to a spinning guild and the wool has already been divided into 60 samples so members of her spinning guild can get a chance to work with wool from a very rare and very old breed of sheep. Kind of weird that hanging out on a digital imaging where some of the latest technology is discussed can also lead to working with some of the oldest technology we possess.

Info on what Titia is doing can be found here:

The extension tubes came in the mail today!! Tis was a good gamble. It's pretty clean & fits nicely into my camera & 50mm lens. Extension Tube #1 (the 12mm) needs a bit of extra pressure to take off E.T. #2, but E.T.#2 comes off #3 easily, but still overall pretty great.

Also came with a case which has some general wear & tear, but overall still in good condition.

I have thought that a set of those might be a good idea. I have Soligor-branded set with aperture ring and actuator coupling, but the aperture ring part tends to slip past the tab on the camera. Not good! Manual aperture is so much less risk.

I got a couple of those a while back (paying a lot more than $3) but have yet to use them. One of them didn't allow focus to infinity though, something that might be worth checking.

Saturday's car boot fair bargain - a boxed Holga 120CFN, a 120 film Lomography camera with built in electronic flash and masks for 12 and 16 exposures, instructions and a strap. Working well and cost me a fiver, I think the last one I had sold for £20+
Picked up another one today - also boxed and in very nice condition - but this time cost me a tenner, won't make a huge profit but it ought to sell for more than I paid. I think they're like buses - you wait for ages, then two come along close together.

Also a 1GB CF card for a pound, and a non-working "Accurange" rangefinder for a pound - hopefully it's fixable, they aren't really very complicated so long as the mirrors are OK.

Canon P Rangefinder

A Canon P. This is an elegant Leica thread rangefinder. See CameraQuest.com and Photoethnography.com for good discussions of the P and its lenses. My example shows few signs of wear, despite being perhaps 60 years old. I've also scored the 50mm f1.8, a 135mm f3.5, and coming my way a 35mm f2. The P features a stainless steel shutter - no solar burns! - a parallax correcting VF with frame lines for 35, 50, and 100mm lenses, shutter 1 to 1000 speeds. Nice handling, heavy as a proper metal and glass camera ought to be. While a dedicated selenium cell meter coupled to the shutter is available the odds of it working at this age are not good. Sunny f16 and a hand-held meter to the rescue.

Thanks, I shall check this out.

I found a copy of Karsh: A Sixty-Years Retrospective at a flea market. I opened the book, closed it and headed straight to the cash.
High-quality prints literally smoke anything you can see on a monitor.
