A side note - I do not have the M 50/1.4 = I have the SMC Tak 50/1.4 and the A 50/1.4 (I keep both as they're honestly different)... The A 50/1.4 is notorious for sticky iris = currently I have 2 copies, one of which I only use wide open due to the sticky iris issue. So, when/if acquiring one it might be a gamble.
I do believe the M and A 50/1.4's are going to produce very similar results... If you want a different 50/1.4 try to get an 8-element takumar or a K 50/1.4.

Thus Sigma would need to make four variants of the hood: APS-C, APS-C+IBIS, FF, and FF+IBIS.
Yep - perfect would imply a mathematical conclusion.
