I think it should really be 40mm primes only but give the 43mm a guest pass otherwise it becomes too general. I suppose you could consider the Mir1b at 38mm but that is in the Russians club. Other than the mir and the 43 I can't think of anything else 40ish so that would be
Mir 1b
40mm M, xs, limited,
Fa 43mm

Not too much dilution there and it will give me a reason to get my 40mm out again. I bet it looks cool on the silver KP
please add your comment to the 40mm - 43mm thread

thanks

Personally, I think a 40mm thread should be a 40mm only thread.

I received my new D FA* 70-200/2.8 today from KEH. I've been using the Tamron for a couple of years but wanted better AF and weather sealing.
It seems nice and solid and isn't that much bigger than the Tamron which makes it fit in my bag without too much rearrangement.

So if anyone needs the Tamron LMK or keep an eye out on the marketplace for it soon.

No cameras today in Portobello Road, but I did find another good Apple USB keyboard - cost me £12 and they usually sell for £25 or so which is the way I like to roll.

Bought some more lenses on line - an Olympus 50/1.8 for OM, a Tamron Adaptall 28/2.8, an Olympus 14-42 for their 4/3 cameras, and a couple of zooms which are probably rubbish. I'll go into more detail when I get them and see what they're like.

And someone extremely generous on the Nikon forums has GIVEN me an electronic shutter speed tester, which I will be putting to good use - I've been using an iphone app and a small plug-in sensor for this, but a dedicated tester ought to be a lot better.

Or my M 40-80mm at the wide end?
The first Pentax lens I ever bought was the M 40-80. Great little lens. I burned up thousands of slides and hundreds of rolls of color and black & white negative films shooting through it with my Ricoh XR2s.

Still have both, although the XR2s sits in a cupboard while the M 40-80 has seen some use on my digital cameras.

I must get it out and shoot some more with it.

if the mods agree

there will be a new lens club thread started soon
Apparently there is some confusion about lens clubs, and how they are created.

Allow me to 'splain it for those who are unsure.

On this page: Lens Clubs - PentaxForums.com

Are two stickies.

Right there at the top, so everyone can see them.

The first is an index of the existing lens clubs: Lens Club - Linked Index - PentaxForums.com

The second is an explanatory post with everything one needs to know about the lens clubs, and most importantly, hot to create one, should there not be one yet. See it here: About the Pentax Lens Clubs / How to start a new one - PentaxForums.com

It is really quite simple. So easy even a caveman could do it.

Oh, and it doesn't require a consensus among the moderation staff. As long as there isn't already an existing club (remember to check the index in the first sticky!), and the person wanting a new club to be formed has done their due diligence, checked the index and then created a new thread in the Lens Discussion section of the forum, the process happens quite smoothly and fairly fast.

but of course and prolly at a better price than the one I just purchased......went for the 70-200/2.8 versus a 43ltd (roughly same price point) considering I have the fa35/2 & fa50/1.4 but nothing AF @ 2.8 over 90mm....figured it would be really nice to use for kids sporting events with the family

The Complete Sherlock Holmes Vol.I (1953)
- A Study in Scarlet
- The Sign of Four
- Adventures of Sherlock Holmes
- Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes

Same provenance as Vol.II, I'll have to repair the binding tho.
Also, I've snagged 5 slides from the 50/60s for 1$. I've never purchased slides before, I must control myself as it could easily evolve into a new obsession lolll

No way! I did not know they were still teaching structured programming in Pascal. I am not sure, but I think I still have my Borland Turbo Pascal files archived off somewhere from when I taught myself the language.* It is an amazing teaching tool and when mastered, one's understanding of what the computer is doing and how to write code that reflects that is far enhanced over less rigidly-defined languages. Good luck and happy coding!
