I just bought myself the lens on the left, arrived this week from B&H It was a tough decision between it and the Tamron 70-200, but in the end the relatively smaller size and weight swung it the way of the DA*. Of the few shots I've taken, I'm really really pleased. AF seems spot on, and the build quality seems fantastic.

I've included the 55-300 for some comparison shots.

Fa*85

Despite being very happy with my FA77/1.8, when the opportunity to buy of these came along, I couldn't say no

It's pretty sweet. A couple cosmetic scratches on the body, but I'm certainly not complaining

BTW, I think you're really love your new DA*50-135. The build quality and IQ are fantastic.

Pentax Limited Case

Got it as a birthday gift. I don't have enough Limited to go in it right now... but my SMC-M 28/2.8, 50/1.7, and 135/3.5 fit in there nicely.

Unfortunately those three lenses are probably going on the market place soon, so I can start putting money into my next Limited

It ain't so much, but an M50/1.7 will be arriving soon, to take its place beside the FA 50/1.4, MacTak 50/4, AsahiTak 55/1.8, SuperTak 55/2, and various other Nifty Fifty's (Meyers, Zeiss, Porst, Chinon, Russians, etc). Now, if I could just luck onto some 50/1.2, eh?

But that leads me to wonder: Looking at manual Pentax glass on eBay, I see that 55/1.8's are often dirt cheap (mine was US$7.50) and 50/1.7's ain't (this one cost me US$50). ?Por que? (I know, I know, read the user reviews...) But it seems incongruous.

Spyder Pro3 Monitor calibration tool.
Wow makes a huge difference in how my monitor looks and I have noticed quite an improvement in getting tweaks in exposure sharpness and colour correct. Then I look at photos in the past pre-calibration and wow what a difference. They look so dark before.
Should make quite the improvement on printing as well.

The photos are from the listing but I'll upload my own shortly. These just arrived today.. Haven't tried them out yet but see no reason why they would be any less that I expect (Yes, I know the 50 f2 is a doorstop but it came with the outfit and it completes my collection of A50mm lenses).

They ain't here yet, but any day now... should arrive a Spotmatic with Pentacon 50/1.8, and a Yashica J7 with a Yashinon 50/1.7. Yup, more Nifty Fifty's, to accompany the recently acquired M50/1.7 and MacroTak 50/4, and the other dozen fifty's in my steely clutches (not counting the dozen Canon and Leica and other-mount fifty's that I can't use except as macros, grrrr)
