Got myself a Sekonic L-188 handheld lightmeter since my Kalimar K-90's lightmeter is borked (it works but its off by 6 stops, fortunately the camera is fully mechanical & only needs a battery for the lightmeter). Got it for $24.56 (with shipping & tax included) on ebay from a company called Jack's Camera Shop.

At some point, I will have to revisit it with some more rigorous testing to see how well it performs if evaluated with rigor.

I have mine up on eBay with a $7.50 starting bid and no reserve, hopefully Iíll get $25 or so. The lens just does not have what it takes for my uses. Dull color rendition is the deal breaker. If it doesnít sell, Iíll use it as a cap for my Spotmatic.

I bought a Sirui ET-2204 Carbon Fiber Tripod with an E-20 Ball Head. It’s a nice, lightweight tripod. Perfect for someone like me who doesn’t want to schlep around a lot of equipment. I asked for an ND filter for Christmas. We’ll see if Santa comes through.

Well, seems I won myself a Vivitar 28-70mm f3.5-4.8 Macro for under $15 including shipping, so we'll see how it actually turns out when it gets here... The reviews seem somewhat favorable and I wanted something a little bit wider than my kit 35-80, so I'm hoping that this will work out nicely. Still trying to find a 28mm prime, but that seems a bit harder to do without spending more than I can justify at this time. This at least will let me know if I'm right in wanting a 28 or if I need to go wider. Wish it had the option for AF, but learning manual focus is something I want to do, so this will help with that. Just need to be careful with the Ricoh pin that I believe this lens has.

Maybe in film but on digital I have no bouts about colour with my Panagor copy of this lens.

First SRT I've ever bought that had a working meter. And the aperture follower wasn't sluggish either. This one will get new seals...

smc PENTAX-A 1:3.5 15mm in just about Mint condition from the photos. Seller sent a substantial 48 hour discount offer to all watchers. It was a tough decision to buy myself something at Christmas time but the price was lower than I have ever seen for an A15/3.5. At $350 I decided to give up the search for a K15/3.5 Aspherical and accept the aperture control from the camera body in exchange Good enough is good enough.

That completes my manual lens collection.

My latest acquisition was not a Pentax. I bought a used Panasonic G80 together with a Panasonic 12-60, plus filters, backpack and some other stuff. My main interest was in the lens, but now I see that the camera is much more ergonomic than my old G3. Anyway I did not use it a lot, maybe because I rediscovered my old K10D.

You say that now, but wait a week and you'll find another lens that you just have to have and then your manual lens collection will be complete...

For another few weeks...

Iíll be on a selling spree after the Holiday. Thereís so much gear I never use. The question is whether to eliminate APSC, eliminate film gear, greatly reduce AF or sell the entire manual collection.

Or move on from photography altogether.
