Now there's a name I haven't heard in awhile. For many years their advertising
saturated all the photo mags, but I never witnessed anyone actually using them.
As mentioned they were bulky and clumsy. Maybe they were useful in the studio?

yesterday I started a thread asking if it was dangerous to rent a K 1 or K 1 II

if I did rent one would I finally wanted to buy one ?

well

" the best laid plans of mice and men . . . "

I am no longer planning on renting either

since a troublemaking member offered me a deal on an " experienced " K 1 II at a price my wife found agreeable

Based on your experience, I'd say it is dangerous to ask!

only when someone gives you an opportunity at a good price

it even convinced the wife

[ with our anniversary coming up in early September, it might have been easier to convince her now as opposed to later ]

I have some Cokin filters, small and very large (used on an UWA). The surface of the small filters seemed to deteriorate over time, getting some sort of texture that looked like an anti-reflection coating was wrinkling. I almost never used the holder, I'd just hold one of the filters by a corner or between thumb and forefinger by opposite corners and put it tight against either the lens or a rubber lens shade, Tulip shades could not be used.

Cokin is still alive and kicking. They have a line-up of Cokin NUANCES Extreme ND filters. I have a Cokin P holder system but very few useful Cokin filters.

I bought a dozen or so Cokin filters back in the 80's and used them quite a lot, mostly for landscape shots. I've still got them but as I only had one mounting ring I can only use them on one or two lenses.

I always thought they were less clumsy than screw in filters and more flexible when using the graduated filters as I could adjust where the graduation started.

Asking about buying/renting anything on this forum IS dangerous! I should know, some of my film photography gear buys was because of this forun, I've even seen it happen to other members too 😂😂
And it usually leads to a rabbithole of LBA/CBA for some 😂😂

32GB RAM arrived yesterday for my PC:

Would love to plug it directly into my K-1, which needs more RAM too, but alas.

Nice looking SMC K 28mm 1:3.5 with free adapter to Leica-M from Japan. Cheapish because it has imperceptible haze.

Congratulations. This is my favourite 28-30mm lens for PK cameras. Excellent as a general purpose lens on crop sensor DSLR, and better value than the 30mm f2.8.

---------- Post added 08-21-20 at 03:04 AM ----------

Two items, one expensive (for me) and one definitely very reasonably priced. Expensive (£330) Contax Aria. I have been looking for a suitable body for my Zeiss lenses (45mm f2.8, 50mm f1.7 and 85mm f2.8) for some time. My S2, RTS, 137MA are fine but not quite right. Hopefully the Aria will sort this out.
Reasonable (£110) - Kamlan 28mm f1.4 in Fuji X mount. My favourite FOV for a walk about lens on crop sensor. Currently own a 27mm f2.8, so this will be a nice fast companion.
