Isn't it? The meat is wrapped to shield it from any dirt or vapours that the engine would give out (or the road throws up) and the heat from the engine cooks the meat. As long is you wash your hands after handling the raw meat and don't handle the cooked meat with unwashed hands then I can't see how it is not sanitary.
Agreed.

Thanks! The seller claimed a CLA was done 2 years ago. The body is in very nice shape, and AFAICT the seals look new. The one flaw I found (so far...) is the wind lever did not rotate the spool, but I tightened the screw on the bottom and that did the trick.

I have 3 rolls of Fuji X-TRA 400 - the only film I could get very locally - so I'm ready to go.

A nice piece of kit! IIRC the winder for the ME Super will fit, if you remove the handle....and then can keep track of it!

"Pies"! - when at Uni in Leeds (North East England) "many decades" ago, one of the local "delicacies" were "tatty pies", which were basically just mashed potatoes in a shortcrust pastry case. Neither very tasty and nor very nutritious - but filling, and very cheap!

Not sure if they still sell them "up North", but maybe they do in the current health (and economic!) crisis.

November last year I went to a conference in Leeds.we had a dinner with some foreign (US) guests in the Marriott. Afterwards I was walking back to my hotel - the Ibis. On the way I saw a bloke in a dress and makeup working as a bouncer outside one of the pubs. Never saw that live before. Must have lived a sheltered life.

Yup "student food" - but that was long before instant noodles came along, at least in the UK, and I probably couldn't have afforded them anyway as my weekly budget for food and other essentials was 5 quid .

K-S1 for a small project in the works... It is actually "better" than my main rig, the K-50, but nevertheless, the K-50 is still my workhorse.

Many many years ago, a student started studying at Aberdeen University. Now this student was a good Scots lad, loved his porridge, and came up with the grand plan of buying porridge oats in bulk so he had more beer money. He could have a big bowl of porridge in the morning, and any left overs could be allowed to cool and set and then cut into bars for snacks.

It was the first case of scurvy they'd seen in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for more than 200 years......

Got a Halina 6-4 in Portobello Road yesterday, a 120 film camera that does 6x6 and 4x4 negatives with an internal mask. Lousy condition, but I only paid £3 for it so I can't complain.

And today's boot fair bargain was interesting but probably not hugely profitable - a Canon Eos Rebel 2000 with 28-80 and "a box of lenses for it" for £20. The Canon lens works OK but is very noisy, hopefully that won't deter buyers too badly. My batteries for the Canon body are dead so that'll have to wait. The lenses in the box turned out to be two Petri M42 lenses - 28/2.8 and 135/2.8 - and two M42 to NEX adapters. Which looked nice until I got them under the good lights and magnifier, but the 135 has some rear fungus, and the 28 had severe cleaning marks on the front element. They may polish off but I doubt it, I think they're too deep. But the NEX adapters should sell for reasonable amounts, say £4 each, so it's going to be hard to actually lose money.

Later - forgot to say that the "Petri" lenses are just badged with that name - Petri stopped making cameras etc. in the late 70s, I think. Fortunately they both cleaned up very well - the fungus on the 135 was all on the outside and cleaned off completely, the front of the 28 wasn't as bad as it looked once I'd got rid of all the crud, although the front still has a lot of marks.

Probably learnt a "practical lesson" from his experiences then
