Actually, following my father's pattern some years ago, I say I am 18. Dyslexically.

Those old IBM keyboards just keep going and going.
IIRC they could be cleaned by immersing them in water.
Good used Model M clicky keyboards still sell for high prices.

I like the clicky because I am a show off and also a fast typist.

Maybe sounds a little like my son's welding truck. It is a 2009 Dodge Ram 3500 duallie cummins turbo with all environmental systems deleted and a straight pipe, no muffler.
This is the pickup I just put the exhaust on, not long after we bought it. The original pipe is just visible behind the right rear wheels.

The truck is all original, 145,000 miles.24 valve Cummins 5.9, 6 speed manual New Venture gearbox, and still has all the original emissions equipment (none).

The son in law wants to get a new diesel pickup, a dually to replace his single rear wheel Chevy with a Duramax and Allison for pulling their 5th wheel toy hauler. He says he is then going to rip off the DPF, idea system, EGR and SCR.

My response is why?

A rig like mine can be found for a lot less, without any of "that pesky emissions stuff", and you won't be at risk for violating federal emissions laws. They are very good trucks. Mine is untouched, save for the new exhaust, it does everything I ask of it, never complains, does it in heated leather seats (or air conditioning in the summer), and never complains.

All perfectly legal.

Good advice on your part. Is his current Chevy SRW a 2500 (3/4 ton) or 1 ton (3500) ? I don't know how large and heavy his trailer is...fully loaded...but either a 2500/3500 SRW has pretty good payload and trailer pulling capacity, particularly with the Duramax diesel and Allison transmission a good , solid powertrain.

Has he thought about beefing up his suspension / tire/wheel setup ?

A friend of mine told me that keyboard led to many businesses adopting IBM machines and the consequent monopoly of Microsoft!

I just turned 40h. As I age I just go from base-10 to something more suitable hex will do for a while!

Phase 1 is about over for the KP kit. 15/28/50/135 primes, 18-50 and 50-200 WR zooms. Still watching the mailbox for some of it to arrive. I've shifted to the M grip, feels a bit 'handier' for me.

That 5.9 straight pipe sounds righteous! You can do lots of crazy and unnecessary things to that engine, but you already know that.

I got a 55mm CPL to use with my 20-40mm Limited as it'll likely be going with me to Valencia this July. It's a used Heliopan one and seems very good though it's certainly not slim.

Thanks.

Everyone always asks what I've done to it, and are incredulous when I say, "Nothing."

Why mess with something that always does what I demand from it?

I don't recall if it is a 2500 or 3500, but he did put airbags on it, and larger tires. It just doesn't have the suspension and brakes to handle the trailer.

The trailer and pickup (hiding behind the cars) are in this picture.

If you got rid of the big trailer and got a Flagstaff E-Pro 19FBS like we have, then you could get rid of that icky diesel stuff and get a Nissan Frontier like I have.

Just got back from 4 days "camping". I fired up my new Wen 2250 generator AFTER READING THE OWNERS MANUAL!!!!!!!!. It fired right up and works fine. Love the gas shutoff feature. It drains all the fuel from the carburetor before shut down.

Well, George, first, it isn’t my truck and trailer, it belongs to the daughter and son in-law.

Second, it is a toy hauler, and although the trailer you have is nice, there isn’t anywhere to park the quads, or a small car, like their trailer.

I’m looking at something like this myself, for racing, and traveling. When not racing, I can carry one of my street Z cars along, so when we travel, we can set up at an RV park or campground, unload the car and take day trips in the vicinity of wherever we happen to be staying.

Back when Kodak was a thing they sponsored a NASCAR race car. They used to stop at Kodak before the Watkins Glens race. Got to go into one of the trailers. Sweetest workshop I ever saw. I never did get a chance to work on a race car. Not sure I would know where to start if the car was not covered in rust, oil, grease and grime. Nothing would look familiar.

I was part of a NASCAR West Series team in the early 1990's. The West Series runs the same cars as the top NASCAR Cup cars, on tracks out West, with a couple joint events at Sears Point, Law Vegas, Phoenix, and California Speedway.

In addition to changing front tires during pit stops, I helped with car prep, between round nut and bolt checks, and being the only guy on the team with a CDL, I drove the semi.

We even got some TV coverage, and it was fun working alongside all the well known race teams. We had breakfast once with Ron Hornaday and his team, drank beer with Kenny Schrader, and chatted with Davey Allison at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Washington, aweek before he was killed in the helicopter accident at Talladega, Alabama.

Good times.

Mostly.
