The only person who seem unhappy is your new acquisition. Hopefully, the temperament of him/her will improve once life gets normal.

Only bump in the road is the cleft lip. That came as a surprise once we opened the package up, but luckily it'll be an easy fix once he reaches 10 pounds and can be sent in for repairs.

I got this in the mail this morning. I'm very pleased. I've been wanting a tie-dye spiral to use a backdrop but thought I was going to have to do it myself. The digital ones I've seen so far aren't too great. Couldn't find anything locally. When I first saw this on Amazon I wasn't impressed. The seller shot isn't much like the actual item. It wasn't until I saw a buyer's pic set up as a photo backdrop that I realized it would work. It's only screen printed but it looks very much like the real thing and it saved me from having to go there myself. I love tie-dye but I do not like the process and unfortunately I can't really afford to buy a $100 plus hand dyed sheet off Etsy or Amazon. I think this will be nice for certain things. Kids will like it, definitely.

I've got a couple of similar things, an OM tapestry, and a Celtic print I also plan on using. Should be fun. I have a bunch of decent digital backdrops too, but I don't want to have to green screen every other shoot if I can help it. I want to offer something more fun than just your standard portrait shots if I can. I'm also doing a piece of white wall in faux brick and I have plans for a few more textured things like that. Things I can just cart around in the car with me if need be...

Congrats! It does look like his lip should be an easy fix. Hopefully he can get to 10 pounds quickly and get it over with soon. My little one was fine, but there are always surprises. A few weeks ago my 5 year old decided to eat a whole slice of raw red onion. She said that she liked it, but when I asked if she wanted more she said "No" quite emphatically through the tears.

Be sure to get that done while it's still under warranty. ;~) But, seriously, congratulations and best wishes!

F 35-70mm f/3.5-4.5 for those days when I don't feel like carrying my Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 (at about 3 times the volume and weight).

The F35-70 is a real beauty, eh? So easy to toss in my bag, barely larger than the FA50/1.4. A fine lens!

My latest acquisition happened yesterday. The husband and I had gone to Best Buy to look for some software he wanted, but made a detour to the cell phones first. I had wanted a new phone for a while, but the husband had put me off saying that I didn't need one (never mind that the phone I was carrying was about 5 years old).

Long story short, we both walked out w/ new Samsung Charge smartphones! WOOT!

An F35-70 zoom for me too, from another forum member.
It's for my MZ-3. It will be my one and only AF lens.

Speaking of these F35~70's, I got an F70~210 to match the 35~70 that came with a nice "finder" SF!n; I guess I now have the two lens kit. At the moment both lenses are with my K-01.

Now you just need the FA20-35 and you're all fixed up! Los Tres Hermanos nicely replace the DA18-55 and DA50-200, with shorter+sharper zoom ranges.

Congrads on the ultimate "new acquisition"!

My nephew was also born with a bit of a cleft lip, they operated (at 2 months I think) and it barely shows at all now (he's 11 months) and they expect there will be no traces at all by the time he is 2-3. Apparently it's a very routine procedure and they have amazing recovery at that age.

Perhaps, but can you get that at finder price any more?
