Salut, ivan ... et merci !

Mostly I horde at the moment , keeping the "best" for me, etc. Luckily, I have a large closets/attic and have stored a lot well ... I share some stuff as well with a few French photag buddies ... We pass stuff between each other (M42's), or just give it away; like I gave a FG-20 + 50/1.8 (from the same thrift store) to a Nikon friend (a D700 + primes shooter, plus medium format film & nice wet darkroom) that gifted me with a MV-1 + M 50/1.8 because he knows I'm a Pentax guy ...

Usually, I go to a few swap meets and trade away the lesser "unwanted gear" for more Pentax gear or other better deals ... have pretty much auto-financed a large part of my "chaotic collection" via swaps/trades/fix-repair & resells ... A+, J

Edit PS - This black FG ... I am going to keep it for me, too nice and need a Nikon as well ... Ha!
Seems to be an excellent strategy. I myself am moving a little into 645 film territory, and watching for buys on this equipment.

Salut,
ivan

Yep, maybe we are on the same "wave length" ... I am looking for a Yashica 635 (with 35mm adapter). Would probably shoot 35mm before going bigger ... ... start small, here.

More thrift scores ... (x-post)

Thrift store acquisitions ... in the "junk" camera bin.

A nice, working Retinette IA with a well used case ... plus a very nice, working Retinette IB with excellent case. Not expensive at all ... plus got a Cobra CX150 flash that was with the Retinette IA (not pictured, but working with good batteries!)

Inside the case of the Retinette IA is an "exposure chart" made by the previous owner ... settings for "sunny", "cloudy", "night" & "flash" for "400 Fuji" and "100 Kodak" (plus "Flash") ... plus below a chart for "200 ASA" ... neat stuff! I love my thrift store ...

Edit: Don't bother on the tablet. I'm down to charging via USB cable with mine, bad ac adapter, and the people who sold it to me are being snotty about me asking for a replacement for it. I'm looking elsewhere for one now but frankly I can't recommend doing business with these people...

Well, I think it's terminal... My LBA degenerated into CBA and now into T&BHBA (Tripod and Ballhead Buying Addiction). After getting my 120-400mm lens, my Designed in Korea/Made in China Tripod / Ballhead combo had to be upgraded, they just couldn't handle the weight (a K5+50-135 was already pushing it).

After seeing both products at various trade shows, I opted for a Acratech GV2 Ballhead paired with a Three Legged Thing X2 Eddie Tripod. A very, very, very nice combo and for once I have a tripod tall enough for me yet still very compact once folded up.

Nice. This was my first camera, only with the 3.5 lens. I think it is one of the finest little mechanical view finder cameras made. It is easy to operate and has a large view finder. The 1B was beyond my budget, but had the same lens.

To go with my brassy black SP, recently went on a tear and got an ES, ESII and black SP-F, that came with 2x SMC55/1.8 and Super Tak's: NIB/NOS 35.3.5; another 35/3.5; 50/1.4; 55/1.8; and 135/3.5. Beautiful Super Tak 35/2 from a member here. My SV is happy for the company.

No freaking idea what I'll do with all this stuff. I swear I was in selling/reducing mode. I guess I'll have to rationalize again.

Once I get out of the doghouse.

Finally got my Pelican 1510 carry on case and my custom cut foam insert. Pretty happy on how it turned out, aside from the cut out for the grips that I managed to mis-measure... oh well, I'll use the space to store filters and rings and stuff. I've seen 1510 packed way tighter than this but I find the extra "padding" to be a nice added safety. Fully loaded, the thing still floats

Looks nice. Personally, I couldn't live with something like that--I have too many lenses and I'm really whimsical about which ones I want to take with me.

Hehe, it took forever (months really) to decide which lens to include, since all the hole are cut to size and stepped to fit the hood and bottom cap, it was a though choice. What's not shown are the three 1400 cases with my "lesser" used lenses, my strobes and the long zooms

Found a Honeywell/Pentax Spotmatic kit for sale a church attic sale. Haven;t had the chance to check it out and see if it works but for USD$ 25 I figured it was worth grabbing. I ordered a M42 to K-mount adapter so I can try the lenses on my K5iis.

I wandered into a Goodwill store on my lunch hour this afternoon and ended up walking out with a ZX-30 with an FA35-80 lens on it for five bucks. I don't know what I'm going to do with the body but the lens, hot shoe cover and eye piece will go with the pawn shop special *istD kit I'm putting together for my boy to use for Boy Scouts. He wants to get his Photography Merit Badge and also be take pics for troop historian. It is nice to now have two of those lenses so I can keep one to play with too.
