I understand that it's a design issue. Those "pump-action" zooming mechanism is gonna suck in lots of air when glasses move inside the tube. Doesn't matter how careful one uses the lens, dust will eventually get into the lens tube. I'm not gonna worry about it unless I can clearly see dots without even enlarging the image. Chances are that when I output a 1024x768 px image from Lightroom, I will see nothing at all.

Just ordered a 3Pod (Adorama) reverse folding tripod. I've seen the carbon fiber one suffers from flimsy legs in a YouTube video. I got the aluminium version, which has a larger tube diameter. Hopefully, the larger tubes will reduce bending flexibility.
A 3-pound aluminium tripod that extends beyond my eye level is light enough already. I really don't need molded carbon fiber plastic anyway.
