Thrift store slumming on Saturday ... for 4€, a working 636 ... with empty film cartridge, but the battery was still good.

And for 2€ A working Yashica Super 8 with case ! Put 6 AA batteries in the handle and it runs, zooms, etc. ... go figure.

I grabbed a grade_x dal55_300 with broken mount for $70ish. After a half hour it works great, my $35 dal18_55 is now dismantled but that's OK I have a 'spare' WR copy!

Got myself a CZJ 80/2.8 in Pentacon six mount - and a week later an adapter Looks good wide open, and I think I cut my finger at 5.6. Need to spend some time with it and see how well we get along.

Pentax-A 70-210mm F/4 lens.

The seller said there's dust between elements; I hope it's not too annoying.

LBA sucks!
Just a day after getting a great deal on a tamron 17-50, I decided to put in a low ball offer on a sigma 10-20, fully expecting to be turned down.
Well, damn, that didn't work out well.

I had one with a bit of dust, and it never caused any issues.

I understand that it's a design issue. Those "pump-action" zooming mechanism is gonna suck in lots of air when glasses move inside the tube. Doesn't matter how careful one uses the lens, dust will eventually get into the lens tube. I'm not gonna worry about it unless I can clearly see dots without even enlarging the image. Chances are that when I output a 1024x768 px image from Lightroom, I will see nothing at all.

Just ordered a 3Pod (Adorama) reverse folding tripod. I've seen the carbon fiber one suffers from flimsy legs in a YouTube video. I got the aluminium version, which has a larger tube diameter. Hopefully, the larger tubes will reduce bending flexibility.

A 3-pound aluminium tripod that extends beyond my eye level is light enough already. I really don't need molded carbon fiber plastic anyway.

I don't think you'd ever see dots due to dust inside the lens, just reduced contrast. You're unlikely to notice this on an old lens, especially if you don't know how it performed when new anyway.

My Sigma Ex Dg 50mm f1.4 HSM arrived today, caps, hood, pouch, box and an B+W 77mm filter (all for a very good price). My preliminary tests show little to no b/f issues with AF so far. All in all it was a good day. Pentax FF here i come.
Pics.

checking B/F focus issues

290 more Swarovski crystals for the bling cameras so I can finally finish the job properly. I had to order 3 more packs. I seriously underestimated just how many it would take to totally do them both. These should do it though. It's probably good I won't get them till next week though. I need a rest, laugh. Oh and I got a new foam mattress to replace the crappy futon I've been sleeping on for far too long.

Dad got it for me actually. I've been hurting a lot and the futon just wasn't helping so he bought me a new one. We can't very well let me be crippled by a bad bed. Not if he wants me to be at his beck and call all the time. :P From the reviews I've read these are cheap but excellent, and I might finally get a good night's sleep once in a while sleeping on one of these. $149 for a full, shipped, with free shipping and the tax etc. About half what the futon place down the street wants for one or for a low end futon...

I was in a local shop over the weekend having my sensor cleaned as I somehow got something on it that I couldn't get off with the rocket blower and while there I picked up a Tou/Five Star 28mm f2.8. He also had the same lens in a SMC M series but he wanted $60 for that one and only $15 for the Tou/Five Star. So it ended up coming home with me. I know the SMC is probably a better lens but it just wasn't in the budget.

An MZ-6 (MZ-L in the US) on ebay for 5GBP delivered. Photos look ok but the condition is unknown, so I took a chance. That 1/4000s would be sweet.
