Bought a Sigma 150-500 on the $769 sale, should be here tomorrow. Grabbed a Marumi filter too, now all I need is a case. Any suggestions?

For me, I answered an ad for a DA 21 Limited for sale and came home with it along with a DA 15. Wow, most impressed with both lenses.

The case that came with both my Bigmas was very nice. Maybe wait until you see it before ordering anything.

My SR mount Tokina 75-150mm f/3.8 arrived yesterday. It has a little dust inside but otherwise looks good.

It has the typical Tokina "feature" of only full stops on the aperture ring though...

Well I swore i was done but i just pulled the trigger on 2 Fuji Kit Zooms form Japan. Price is less than the longer one sells for here (and the shorter not sold separately) Recently sold the K7kit/Da35/Da14 in part to fund this and in part to pay for some of the other items. I would say I'm done but I'd like either the 14 or the coming 16 (or the zeiss 12) and the pending next year 90mm. So i need ot start saving . and then I'm finished. Really I am. yea right

I do not think that you will find it field ready nor much different from the prime cases. It's still good though ... here's my recently acquired 150-500.

Thanks. I'm interested in a case that will fit on my Lowepro system for the lens. Seems like it would be something they would do as there are enough big lenses out there. I may end up using my camera case that I got for the K-5+70-200 because it will fit. Of course some are taking the Sigma case into the field but I'l have to wait until it arrives because my Sigma cases to date are great storage cases but lousy field cases IMHO.

I agree with opinion of the sigma cases being a great storage case not a good field case. My 50 f1.4 case doesn't hold the heavy lens in any type of walking around or in a camera bag because of all the dead spaces between the walls of the case and the lens..

When you find a good field one, please post it here. I would like to know ... I have a bit of Lowepro, too, but no time to search at the moment. Salut, J

Latest thrift store score ... price on back.

The shutter is stuck, but at least the meter is working, even had a good battery in it. Will open it up and clean the shutter this weekend ... J

Rangefinder models like that with F1.7 lenses aren't that common, should be wonderful in use!

My father gave me his Canonet QL17. He purchased it in 1965 while on layover in Tokyo as he was being deployed to Viet Nam.
I grew up with this camera. In my father's own words, "Its a Tri-X eating MONSTER!" He brought back hundreds of wonderfully exposed photos to back that up.
Fortunately, the photos are all of farmers and relaxed soldiers, as things were still pretty quiet in 1965-67.
