SMC Pentax-DA 15/4 in LN- condition, from overseas. This one has been on my 'At-a-Price' List for a long time. It is in the plastic bag warming up to room temperature.

The K-1 just gets farther and farther away.
Personally I think that is a good trade-off. Used the right way that lens can do magic.

...or you could sit down and study MTF charts and be miserable

yeah, that's pretty much what I think. Alas, my lens drawer is full, so now I must sell one to buy one.

My lens boxes are both full, so now I must get another

But really, I don't buy much anymore. At least not as long as I stay away from the marketplaces

From the "antiques & vintage collectibles" shop.

Thinking about checking in with dcshooter to see if he would do a CLA + refinishing.

You found a K-01 in an antique shop! I knew it was old, but not that old...
Oh wait, you found a Tak 24/3.5...

So I got a short story about my latest camera things.

It all starts with me dropping my k-50 and turning it into a manual only DSLR. So I was bummed and called about a repair but found out it was about the same price as a new camera. So I did not feel it was worth it.
So I went out to a few local stores but didn't find any pentax cameras I wanted currently.
But I did find a Minolta maxxum 7000. And now instead of a new DSLR I have a Minolta auto focus setup. including a 50mm f1.7, 35-70 f4 macro, the 70-210 f4 beercan, and a maxxum 4000 flash.

The antique is in front of the camera and behind the camera.

In the mail yesterday:

1. Unmarked black MX back from Eric. The LED module had come loose and now it is LN- This camera was an outright gift from a PF member.
2. Unmarked SUPERPROGRAM, CLA'ed, User Guide, Case, working Digital Data Back M.
3. Helicoid Extension Tube K

Q7 P Mode is really iffy at 800 ISO AWB under tungsten. And oh boy does the system 'adjust' the jpeg quality on the way up versus how they look in PSE. Oh well. If I want good I guess I have to set up lights and use the K-3.*

I continue to fund the K-1 aspirations of many Pentaxians.

* Ya know, its funny - I don't think any of the PP changes I made to these files made into the saved jpeg's.

just received a pair of

OP/TECH USA 1301112 1mm Mini QD Loops (Black)

That I had ordered in November 16th 2015... (took more than 2 months to receive!)

http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00A8EIPJQ?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s01

I have that on all my K-5, K-3, and now K-3II bodies and my Bushnell's binoculars to switch the different kind of straps easily... Very good product!

Adidas is having a sale, and I've wanted to have these for over a year now. Couldn't resist, with something like 70 or 80% off list price, and at least 40% off the lowest price elsewhere And yes, it is photography related, because it lets you walk forever without any knee issues. I hope they'll arrive soon Would have liked the Energy Boost too, especially in the Reveal version, but they were significantly more (still a good offer) and only available in colors that made them very appropriate for 90s rave parties. Damn shame.

@bertwert: I thought the same!

Yes they are strong enough ! Anyways, the other op-tech loops are too large to fit in the small holes of those bodies. And When I remove the strap to use the bodies on a tripod, the clips are small enough and stay out of the way...

Pentax 645N

I don't always win, but this time I did. I have just finished unpacking my latest acquisition, a mint condition Pentax 645N from a Japanese dealer for only $299 plus $40 freight. There is not a scratch or spot of dust on it, and the strap had never been installed. I do not have an autofocus lens for the 645, but my old 645-A 55mm f 2.8 will do for my first roll of Portra 400. Next I will be tempted to pick up an AF 75mm lens for my first automatic focussing experience in medium format.
