My latest gamble from Shopgoodwill arrived today. $130 plus shipping.

Black K-X with a M 50/1.7. The 50 is better than the copy I already have, The KX is in beautiful condition. No brassing, the mirror bumper and door seals seem good (it looks like it was CLA'd or had the seals replaced at least). The periscope doesn't show the aperture with the 50, but my chrome KX doesn't either...

An unloved lens...the A 35-80. Like new condition (a little dust inside) IOB.

An unloved lens on a respectable AF film SLR...The F 35-80 on a PZ-70.

But the thing that made it all worth it...A set of Kenko KAF extension tubes...they look like they've never been used...

There was a cheap auto thyristor flash unit too, but it had really bad corrosion on the battery cover/contacts...not really a loss.

Here's the Minolta SRT100X with 45mm f/2 lens that I picked up last week. I managed to lose the original Minolta lens cap before I even got home

After selling two cameras, it's just natural to get three more, right?

  • Argus C4 rangefinder (In working condition!)
  • Argus AF viewfinder (Frame counter doesn't work)
  • Minolta XG-A w/ MD 50/2 lens, and Popular 30TB-D flash w/ TTL adapter
Strangely enough, 2 of the three cameras had undeveloped film in them...which I promptly ruined...oh well, more junk rolls for testing future cameras.

The Argus C4 had film with a canister lacking DX encoding, and an unusually long leader...must be fairly old.

Another good afternoon at the car boot sales - ignoring non-photographic stuff, I got

An SMC Pentax-M 1:4 200mm, unfortunately the filter ring is dented but it's otherwise in nice condition
Two Schneider enlarging lenses, 5.6/100 and 2.8/50, but after taking a more careful look I think the latter may be incomplete, it looks like the rear element is missing - I'll have to try it out on a bellows and see what the results are like.
A Nikon IX-Nikkor 24-70 3.5-5.6, unfortunately only suitable for their weird Pronea APS SLRs, but in very nice condition
A Hoya 77mm circular polarizer
A no-name 77mm UV filter
and a couple of smaller no-name filters, a fake Cokin polarizer and a 52mm skylight.

I got the lot at £15. I also looked at a Petri 135/3.5 in Pentax K fitting which had slight fungus but didn't buy it, when I explained why the seller gave it to me!

I'm going to try a couple of Pentax-using friends with the 200mm, see if they are interested though I think they have better, the rest will be headed for ebay - already listed the Nikkor and big filters.

Turns out that it's the rim of the retractable hood that's damaged on the Pentax lens, rather than the filter ring, which is very good news. And I got a package today containing stuff I ordered a week or so ago, which was better than expected:

An immaculate Helios 44-M-4 58mm f2.0 in M42
A Cosina 28/2.8 in M42, also very clean and working well
and a Soligor x3 converter in M42, clean but not an especially wonderful performer

Cost me over £20 but I ought to make a profit - not huge, but worth buying them

I think I've scored fairly well - just picked up an A 20/2.8 including the hood. Even with the original box and case for the hood.

Cheap? No. But she's beautiful

Finally got my hands on a FA31 :-)
Some signs of use, but really sharp and only €530.

Could very well become my most used lens after the DA15.

I'm now the (not so proud) owner of a Praktica electric mount Adaptall adapter.

The reason I'm not so proud, is that the auction description in no way mentions Praktica, and the mount is not aperture coupled for any Spotmatic.

On the plus side, however, it will work as a plain M42 adapter, and it came with a practically new box.

The black KM outfit has arrived and it is in excellent condition all around.
Everything seems to work okay but I will send it to Eric for maintenance.

Very nice - the K35/3.5 is a very nice lens, sharp wide open.

At least in the case of my copy the K35/3.5 renders reds (and sky blues) with a vibrance, clarity and center sharpness no other lens in my drawer can match. It must have been stunning on Kodachrome.
