some times you just have to wait your time
I couldn't afford the SMU's for the 150-450 any time soon either.

I read that! I recommend a tube of squeeze icing. Small Dab between each SMU to stick them together.

With either K-1 or KP single Center point focus on, say, a pepper flower from 30 feet is fast and accurate. Very sharp lens .

Elmer's school glue is non toxic and works for these taller projects

Perhaps you can convince her to put you on a diet of short lenses.

One new small lens each week and a short stack of SMUs would clearly be healthy moderation!

Shouldn't you be trying it out rather than measuring?? You will need at least half a box for sure.

I have been out shooting with her, but am also aware of my responsibility here...

I was moaning a week or so ago that I was always finding stuff to sell, and never anything I wanted for myself. And as if by magic today's big bargain was a Canon Digital Rebel XTi, AKA Eos 400D, which is a much better body than the 350D I've been using for lens tests the last few months - higher resolution and self-cleaning sensor. £30 with a really horrible zoom that turned out to have some fungus, but the body is fine and I ought to make a small profit selling on the 350D alone, anything I get on the lens will be a bonus.

Also a Pentax MG with 50mm f2.0, also with very slight fungus unfortunately, for £12. Not the same vendor and a different market - I often wonder how stuff ends up in this condition, I've never had a lens of my own grow fungus and I don't live in an ultra-sterile environment, but I think a lot of it comes from house clearances etc. where they find dad's old camera in the attic 20 years after he last used it.
