Shouldn't you be trying it out rather than measuring?? You will need at least half a box for sure.
I was halfway through the second sleeve of SMU’s before I stopped measuring.

So then you didn't have enough so you decided to finish the box, right?

mrs. monochrome came into the room and noted I had opened an entire box of Thin Mints - and that was the end of measuring lenses.

You need to just buy the Dollar general generic version, then it is cheap enough she can't get too very angry, (I hope.)

they do keep well in a freezer in a plastic bag as well

no need for any loss or damage from measurement

that is, if you control yourself

I (not so) recently got a 55-300mm DA L ED from a member on here and the hood to go with it. Then, last month and 2 days ago, I got a Tamron SP 10-24mm Di II as a gift and I gotta say I'm LOVING this lens. So much so that I keep it on the body all the time... I may be getting a Sigma 50-500mm soon.

Two recent acquisitions from the French "Le Bon Coin" site ... the M42 adaptor was 14€ delivered and the non-working ME F with a very nice and working AF 35-70/2.8 was 22.50€ delivered ...

I put the AF lens on my working ME F and all seems AOK ... and an already loaded roll of film to be shot ASAP. Not the fastest AF on the planet, but a heck of a lot of Pentax fun !!!

PS - I have two more packages coming ... yep, binge and nuts.

My two Rollei tripods (that I got for 69€ each) have arrived
I'm quite pleased with both (hard not to be at the this price), I'll probably keep the bigger one.

Given their fairly beefy legs (Beta: 31|28|25|22mm, Gamma: 28|25|22|19mm), they're surprisingly slim (thanks to the Y-shaped center column).
That design makes it impossible to fold over the legs for storage, though. The legs fold down very efficiently but the folded length (570mm & 545mm respectively, plus the head of course) is rather cumbersome.

top to bottom: Rollei Rock Solid Beta 180 Carbon (with Sirui K-20X), Gamma 180 Carbon, Induro A114

I don't think I'll use the long center column too often. I'm sure it'll come in handy occasionally but I'll probably use the small column most of the time.
I don't need the center column to reach eye level (at least not in landscape orientation) and the tilt mechanism seems quite useful without extension:

I like that tilt mechanism. They look really decent, especially at the bargain price you paid.

Me too, though I wish it could be adjusted smoothly. It would probably have to be friction-locked, though, instead of looking like this:

I recall review of a lens from about 1980/81, when it was new. I think it was the first commercially released AF lens. Or else another that worked by the same principle and looked almost identical.

Yeah, that's kind of a shame, perhaps if it were a €300 Tripod it would have.... Oh hang on 😂

You'd probably need to attach a sizeable lever to tighten a friction lock enough to hold the kind of torque this design does.
