Ebay? I was watching that thing (last week if I can remember correctly). I dropped an early bid on it, then I was out somewhere when it ended and my phone never dinged me during the final 15 minutes - very nice piece!

This was a Buy it now but yes it was last week. I don't remember if there were any bids on it or not. It came with an original case which, I think this lens has lived its entire life in.

The Ebay out bid notices have never done me any good. They always came after the item ended.

Yeah, they make a nice trio. The FA*24 seems nice so far. A while lot bigger than the 21, but that was expected. It's about the size of the DA*55 overall. Didn't get a chance to really try out the FA*300 yesterday as it was late by the time I got home and it's not a particularly great indoor, low-light lens

I just accidentally kinda sorta won an old Sears Tower box camera. I was seriously expecting to be outbid (I think I bid $11 for it). Comes in its original (albeit mangled) box, and supposedly still has film in the thing. It came out to less than $20 including the shipping.

Great minds think alike! My selections arrived this morning:

On the left, Tamron 52E, I believe the same optically as the Adaptall-52BB, except with autofocus, a focus limiter and 52mm filter. On the right, the Vivitar/Komine 55mm f2.8 1:1 macro in m42 mount. Which means selling my older/different versions of these two and possibly some day learning to tke decent macro shots.

So the Tamron is a 1:2 Macro? I have the Adaptall 52BB but hadn't realized that there was an an autofocus version and I've never seen a Tamron lens with that body style before.

I'm looking forward to the adaptor which I've bought from a fellow Pentaxian for mounting Pentax 67 lenses on my 645. The Pentax adaptor preserves full lens automation, which the cheap knock-offs don't. Now I can pursue some of those monster teles, assuming I can afford them!

On a different front, I have three filters on the way for my Voigtlander Vitessa L. This late fifties gem uses odd bayonet mount filters, hard to find.

If you really want to feel lonely, carry one of these! Rough work, but someone's got to do it.

Yes, it has the same optical specs as the 52B and BB. The focus ring turns about 180 degrees instead of ~300, and there's a limiter to use only the range from 0.39m to 0.55m. PhotoME says the lens info is "Unknown F, FA or DA lens (Id: 3 43)". It weighs 450g - feels about the same as the 52BB.

I've never seen it before either. I got it because I like to use my 52BB for portraits, except for the missed focus shots. And no Adaptall mount!
