Prices on this model are quite low, possibly due to earlier versions poor reputation.

I sold a couple of those last year - they're not the world's best lens but they're OK within their limitations. It's actually a slightly more useful range than 35-70, in my opinion, since I tend to use the telephoto end quite a lot. Unfortunately I don't seem to have any shots that really show its performance, for some reason I never thought to go out and shoot an album of test photos. I've probably got a couple of images somewhere, I always take one or two to show lens resolution etc, but they'll be boring things like a neighbour's chimney pots, a tree, and so forth.
Today's boot fair bargain was a nice clean Hoya 135mm f2.8 with M42 mount, got it with a skylight filter, caps, and a case for £3, which is pretty good.
