Great idea! I'll just PM you my address, so you can send me that 27.3cm stack of dollar bills...
as soon as I receive the shipment of the same amount of $10 dollar bills that you send to me, the $ 1 bills will be on their way to you

These days you’ll need 54.6 cm to give a constant measurement.

Here's a closer look at the recently arrived Canon nFD 24/2.8.
I'm not even sure I won't sell both copies I have of this lens (I'd rather have a 20/21, the nFD 20-35/3.5L would be even better) but I'm sure as [expletive deleted] selling this one...

Is this what they call "mint condition"?

Collecting more dead mounts

Minolta Stuff:
  • Minolta X-700
  • Minolta Auto 280PX (Flash)
  • Minolta MD 50/1.7
  • Vivitar 70-210mm 1:4.5 (SR-MD mount)

Canon Stuff:
  • Canon EF
  • Canon FD 50/1.8

And a chance local camera shop find (And I don't know if you can call M42 a dead mount):
  • Vivitar 55/2.8 Auto Macro 1:1 (M42 mount)

The Minolta Stuff all looks brand new. Event the filters...not a fingerprint, or even a scratch! And this is from ShopGoodWill....

The LKUs have somewhat more variance than I had hoped (1 LKU = 4.8 ± 0.2 mm), this will also limit stackability but - with proper alignment - only in the upper reaches of the required range.

To demonstrate the range:

Samyang FE35/2.8: ~10LKU (~7LKU from the lens mount) | Canon nFD300/5.6: ~44LKU (~41LKU from the lens mount)

With proper unit alignment, even fully erect lenses can be measured:

Canon nFD300/5.6 with hood extended: ~56LKU (~53LKU from the lens mount)

Here's the new Samyang with it's valiant (but somewhat bloated) AF ally to the left and the MF rivals it's trying to expel to the right:

Sony FE85/1.8: ~19LKU | Samyang FE35/2.8: ~10LKU | Canon nFD35/2 (with FE adapter): ~16LKU | Pentax K28/3.5 (with FE adapter): ~17LKU
Those values include Sony E-mount rear lens caps (~3LKU) and the E-mount adapters on the Canon (~4LKU) and Pentax (~5LKU).
This is exactly why I love the pentaxforums community, where else do you thin mints and crackers used as a standardized unit of measurement.

My, oh my... That *is* a rarity! Very nice catch. It's a lens I've always fancied owning. Looking forward to seeing your SMU measurement photo

The 02B is a nice lens. I had one years ago and I liked the rendering. The OOF backgrounds are busy but it is sharp.
