A Holga 120s camera for Lomography - cost £10, I usually get a little more when I sell them, but the seller was a charity I support so I'm reasonably OK if I don't break even.

I have a couple of these in my storage boxes that haven't been used for a few years now. One is still new in the box, the other is mod'ed from when I was actually using it... I flocked the interior, added foam tensioners for the film roll, and added various anti-light-leak measures (foam and tape ). Back when I bought mine (maybe ten to fifteen years ago?) you could get them for peanuts direct from China. They seem to have ticked up in price now.

I know people either love or hate these things. Personally, I had a lot of fun with my Holga. Processing costs would put me off these days, I think... I still have quite a few Ilford HP5 120 rolls in the fridge, though. Maybe I should dig out my mod'ed Holga and give it another go?

There's a point where simplicity becomes a bit counter-productive - I'm afraid I prefer cameras with a decent range of settings. When I was using 120 I mostly worked with TLRs - a Lubitel I owned myself, and a Mamiya I played with a few times, the one with interchangeable lenses. I also thought about buying a Pentacon 6 or a Russian fake Hasselblad (couldn't afford the real thing) but I was doing some part-time work for a 2nd hand camera shop and soon realised just how unreliable they are.

Today's acquisition was another small lot of lenses; a Cimko M42 70-210 f4.5 zoom, an Optomax T-mount 135 f:2.8 which had a Petri-fit YS mount on it for some reason, and a wide-angle adapter. Cost about £12, I'll probably come out ahead on the deal. Since the Nikon lens I mentioned is already on £78 four hours after I listed it on ebay I feel reasonably relaxed about taking an occasional punt on these lots...

Well next week I am having a different kind of LBA. I am getting my first eye exam in 6 years or so and I desperately need new glasses. So I am getting two lenses at once. Maybe 4 if there is a sale and I can get new prescription sun glasses too.
