That's been a disturbing trend with all of them I've looked at. It may also decide that saving water is more important than cleaning your dishes.
When we moved shop a couple years ago I begged the old dishwasher from them. We almost never used it to clean parts so it was like new. One of the jer..er I mean former bosses brought it in because his wife didn't like the color. I don't either but a stainless interior was hard to just leave to the landlords.
It's waiting for my current one to die. ..I need to stop fixing it. :P
Yes! The new ones fall to dry the dishes too! My dad's old kennmore is 30 years old and crushes the jobs a dishwasher should do. Cleans the dishes (check), dries them (check)!!!!

Been married 42 years We have never had one of those fancy eeeeeeeeeeeeeelectronic dishwasher thingies. It is a lot more environmentally friendly to just do the dishes ourselves. Quicker too. When the kids were around it was time that the wife and I could talk about things. If the kids hung around the kitchen we would ask them if they wanted to help. Bam!!!! instant privacy as they scattered to the winds. Now with just the two of us there is even less reason to have one.

Yes The irony is he only uses his when we're around generating extra loads.

I had one that worked until the drain pump shaft rusted out and I had to make a decision if I rebuilt the whole thing again or get a new one...mistake.
The thing was really running out of gas plastic giving up etc. It wasn't a high grade model to begin with but at least it did the job. Now we have to run it on "1 hour wash" for to ever get done, and if the primadonna doesn't get hot water right away it won't start. Have to run the faucet to get hot water closer to it before it will even run, and no garbage disposal!? whoever though that was a good idea....probably made more money.

Almost all (IIRC) EU/UK d/w machines are now "cold" fill only, rather than "cold & hot" fill - but that was the final nail in the coffin for the old m/c as the internal leak clobbered 2 heater/pump units!

PS: the new one has just completed it "first" full wash - seems to have worked fine, but there was a mysterious leak from the waste connection to the kitchen sink drain! Nothing actually to do with the d/w itself but had to tighten the nut on the 1 & 1/4" waste connection (yes, we still use "Imperial" sized waste pipes!) twice before that stopped - never had to do that before!

Right now I'm quite short on money, but just bought filters for my flash. Paid 0,11$ including shipping from China. And previously I bought shoulder strap from China too. Wouldn't buy lens or anything else worth over 30$ there, but sometimes I wander how can they sell some things so cheap.

I just re-purchased an FA 50mm f/1.4, which arrived Wed. and I have not had time to play with it yet. Not sure why I sold that before but I missed it ever since selling it and got another.

Just aquired a cold. No SMU for that. But a fair amount of buyer's remorse.
On the bright side: got the 100th like. I might have to reward myself with a lens

I got these 3 Canon FL lenses today from a guy on Craigslist. They came with a Canon Pellix QL.
All 3 have great clean glass..no dust, haze, fungus, oil on blades, or scratches.
Amazing considering they're about 50 years old.
It was raining all afternoon today, but will give try them tomorrow.
