I just bought an used K3 today.

Compared to my old K50:
*faster screw-focusing motor
*more resolution while zoomed in live view (100%) This is a huge step up for me as I shoot a lot with fast manual lenses.
*more accurate focus
*better lowlight focus
*faster shooting and 4x bigger buffer
*QUIET shutter - K50 sounds like a tank.

So far so good.
Things I have to get used to:
*ISO has dedicated button on top and AF select has dedicated button on the side. Both work by pressing them down and then using the right wheel to change settings. I think the 3 AFoptions on the K50 switch worked better.
*some buttons are in different places.
*can't set AUTO-ISO in M-mode

That's about it for now.

Isn't that just TAv? Set aperture and shutter to whatever you want, and let ISO go where it needs to.

yes, but I have reach for the mode dial for that whereas with the K50 I could do it with 2 button presses with my thumb

Snagged a re-bagged Tamron (Promaster) 271D 28-200. Nice lens, as clean as if it were new, fast AF, good lock, and all for the princely sum of $10.

First shipment from Goodwill after falling off the wagon again...

A Konica C35 Automatic with a dead meter. It'll look nice on the shelf...

Two Canon FD lenses. A 28/2.8 S.C. and a 100/2.8 S.S.C.. Both looked like they had at some point been buried...the focus ring on the 100 is stiff, but there is no fungus and the aperture blades are snappy.

Well, the other used AF zoom I won arrived today too Tokina 70-210/4.5 - all metal, smooth zoom, and a nice aperture ring. The Tamron 70-200/2.8 is great but LARGE so I'm trying to decide on a smaller option. One of these will be catch-and-release.

The 44M-4 is auto aperture only, so you'll need an M42 adapter with an inner flange to press the stop down pin. But you probably know that...

Not really, those are my first M42 lenses, thanks for the input! What i could see whas it needed to push down the pin in order to work properly, just with it was good to go. I've been able to take a shot without the adapther and bearing that in mind, doesn't look too bad wide open and shift focused!

I have too acquired some nice shelf queens from Goodwill...

Lack of fungus or haze always seems surprising coming from there...sometimes you get lucky
