Picked up a Sears 135mm f2.8 macro with the rotating front element.... works great, but unfortunately has some fungus inside

$20. No cap. Needed major cleaning. Damn Goodwill people stuck THREE price tags on it. Took me 5 minutes to clean the lens. Then 20 minutes to remove the tags and clean the glue off.

I had one of those once. Seemed like a pretty solid camera though I never actually took pictures with it. I think I still have the manual for it if you're interested (P30t).

I like the shutter sound on this one. No need for the manual. I've figured everything out on my own and then downloaded the PDF from pentax. Thanks though. Now I'm trying to decide which film camera to take to Poland (in a week). This or the K1000. The all metal K1000 is so pretty...

Ooooh--interesting, dwb! Nothing on that one in the database--you gonna have to post a review!

Unfortunately, it's Nikon-mount.

It's essentially the DA 35/2.8 Macro for non-Pentax bodies.

(Minus the quickshift, minus the built-in hood, minus the build quality...)

Sounds like a Nikon winner!

I would say something about that but it would get me kicked out of here. Nice find. All I ever see at garage sales are smelly baby items and dishes I wouldn't feed my dog off of.

Great is da Skor.

I guess they do happen: I've seen a few really good bargains when I just didn't have the fourty bucks to my name, more's the pity, but even dedicated scroungers ask that question: That's how I got my K20d when it's a real strain to ever rub two C-notes together: cause I scored a couple of exotic Nikkors and had a little savings and made a few temporary arrangements.

Does happen, though, even if the wheels of capitalism grind sqeakily and rusty in yer noggin. Here's me, seeing these lenses in pawnshop, "Hey! Lookit these, you know what you *got* here?" The proprietor insisted they weren't worth much cause they weren't autofocus, but as he insisted, slowly it dawned on me, 'I...Could.. Actually.. Buy... These.... Then... Sell... For...Something... Else..' (I ended up just trading, but that's cool. )

Wasn't a bad thing. Everyone involved ended up happy, assuming whoever hocked the things in the first place wasn't crying too hard. (I suspect not, or the price *would* have been higher,) I get Pentax rig, friend gets a pretty good deal on Nikkors, pawnbroker gets some profit and to be *right.* (Or the inner satisfaction of being just that nice without me catching on. I haven't ruled this out. )

Have a little faith, I guess. This kind of thing doesn't happen as much since Ebay, (before then, people who wouldn't set *foot* in a pawnshop would be glad to see the twenty or fourty bucks and someone who wanted the stuff, and they couldn't really sell the stuff anywhere else, likely, so everyone'd be happy. ) But, urban legend has it everyone gets one of these sooner or later.

Here's my recent, if humbler score: (Not all this stuff, just the sensor cord I've been chasing around the planet since I passed up my chance to get one, some time back when I was going for a Pat Benatar look or something. ) Still, once I finally found, ....one dollah.

(The cheapo light-stand bit is holding space for something real, here: at this point probably a prototype Ratmagic Enterprises FlopHead (tm) or a reasonably non-pain-in-the behind little ballhead thingie. )
