Finally got me a tripod - it's small and lightweight. Perfect for now. Bought it secondhand for 18usd.

100mm Takumar Macro mentioned above finally showed up.
Super Multi Coated Takumar 100 F4 - externally dusty and care worn. The rubber on the lens focus ring has shrunk and lifted leaving a bit of a gap down the seam line and the dof scale ring was loose although the three grub screws were still present. An easy job to tighten that down. Came with a UV filter that needed the ring tightened to stop the glass rattling - took it off cos I prefer not to use them - But the lens glass is perfect with no dust or haze etc - excellent for the $90 price!
Example at minimum focus distance 1:2 :

Example near infinity:

Resized only.

Nice setup Jogiba,

The 21mm Ethos is pretty much the ultimate eyepiece. I got the 13mm Ethos when it first came out and that afov is just incredible.

What is the rest of your setup? I clearly see you got a Televue secondary and a Meade ED scope.

Not a fancy lense but for US$25 I'm not complaining.

Cosina make some interesting lenses ..... including Zeiss & Voigtlander !

Received the Cosina MF 28-70/4 in great condition, yesterday. Going to give it a try out later.

No offence to Jeff at the top of the page, but the bokeh on that is way better than the Zeiss. Granted, there's the focal length to take into account, but still.

I think that is a matter of personal choice. Most macro lenses give ultra smooth bokehs - however the Zeiss bokeh is very distinctive, personally I love it, it has real character.

My Pentax DBG4 just arived!
$200 from Adorama, didnt want to put a cheapy ebay grip on it.

Pentax grip feel very solid and well built, just like the K-5, makes it feel even more like a tank now!

Yeah the Zeiss bokeh isn't as smooth as say my Tokina 90/2.5, but I think a lot of that is due to MFD and focal length. That last shot was uber-busy in the background (and not that far away), so I don't blame its wild flare.

Now a voigtlander 125...I can only dream...
