What luck... these things are darn awesome. I tried one in a mall some months back. Ended up buying a lens, though..
They are absolutely stunning I think, but unfortunately Dad changed his mind. This morning he came over and I had to give them back. I sighed. He patted me on the head and said "Christmas" so I think he just might get me a pair again then but for now it's back to my crappy old JVC's. I had a great pair of Skullcandy ones but my cat unfortunately killed those. I am not real happy about this. Those were the most comfortable best sounding headphones....

Just got a Sigma 10-20 f/4-5.6 lens off the Marketplace yesterday. Having fun playing with the ultrawide format.

My Tamron 70-200/2.8 finally arrived in good shape. The box looked like it had never been touched, which is completely different from how the first 2 boxes were destroyed (like worse than anything I have ever seen) by UPS. I have to put it through its paces this weekend but so far so good. Pluses to Amazon and how they handled the whole process too. Next day early AM delivery as a courtesy really seemed to make a difference!

My Pentax-A 50/1.4 arrived today. Expecting the Pentax-F 50/1.7 tomorrow.

Soligor Zoom+Macro 80-200mm 1:4.5

Soligor Zoom+Macro 80-200mm 1:4.5 C/D Pentax bayonet mount. Just purchased the lens from a local camera store that’s been in business for over 40 years. Took it home and gave it a good cleaning and now it looks like new. In good light the lens produces nice photographs. I’ve read the C/D on a Soligor indicates it was computer designed and was a competitor to the Vivitar Series 1. Does anyone know that information is fact or photography lore?

I got a great Ebay deal on this B & K 700 mutual conductance tube tester, something I've wanted a long time but couldn't quite bring myself to buy. This one is about 40 years old, but in excellent condition:

Well, my D-BG4 developed a fault this weekend. The shutter button appears dead. I used it the day before, no problems. Put the camera with grip in its bag over night, got it the next day and pulled it out and ...nothing. Mailed it off this weekend to Pentax Service with a note. It's less than a year old. I use the thing ALL the time and so I ordered a $35 knockoff to use while this one is in the shop. The knockoff arrived today. Not too shabby. Its definitely different, not as well put together, a bit rougher, etc. but all the buttons and dials work and the camera acknowledges it so I'll use it until I get my real one back.

I have had that happen from time to time on my D-BG2 but I unscrew it and ruffle the spring loaded pins with my fingers and stick it back on again and it comes good - sometimes it is the green button and sometimes the wheel. Internal dust I figure - gets very dusty around here.

Thanks. I tried taking it off, pushing the pins in, several different batteries, and various sequences of turning the camera and grip on but none brought it back. I hope they look at it and its working and tell me I'm an idiot and send it back, but I'm afraid it'll need some repairs. We shall see.

Since I am doing a lot more viewing/editing of my photos, I decided to upgrade my monitor. After a lot of research, I decided on a Dell Ultrasharp 24" IPS monitor, and bought an EVGA video card to go along with it. While the monitor and card were on their way to me, I thought I might as well refresh my whole desktop so I got myself a new keyboard and mouse also. My keyboard and mouse are at least 6 years old - still worked for the most part.

I am just blown away by my new monitor! I came from a generic Dell TN monitor that came bundled with a low end computer, and it was running on-board graphics. I am now looking through all my photos little by little and seeing these images like I've never seen them before!

Is that the final stage of LBA, buying lenses for a camera I don't have (yet)? But for some reasons I have not been able to resist some Pentax 67 glass as they became available for silly low prices, and now I have both a 200mm and a 35mm (fisheye). My plan was to buy only a 67 body with a 55mm lens. Nothing more.
