i wandered into a goodwill store on my lunch hour this afternoon and ended up walking out with a kx-30 with an fa35-80 lens on it for five bucks. I don't know what i'm going to do with the body but the lens, hot shoe cover and eye piece will go with the pawn shop special *istd kit i'm putting together for my boy to use for boy scouts. He wants to get his photography merit badge and also be take pics for troop historian. It is nice to now have two of those lenses so i can keep one to play with too.
kx-30?

Another 7€ super score camera bag full of goodies at the thrift store ... an excellent AF 28-105, an excellent AF 70-210, a nice "parts body" 700si (it will not stay "on" for more than a few seconds; maybe repairable) plus extras seen and the OEM Minolta bag ... Lucky deal. J

Found a Honeywell/Pentax Spotmatic kit for sale a church attic sale. Haven;t had the chance to check it out and see if it works but for USD$ 25 I figured it was worth grabbing. I ordered a M42 to K-mount adapter so I can try the lenses on my K5iis.
For $25 that's smokin' hot!! Will you take me with you next year?

Accidentally stumbled on a cl ad for a much wanted, discontinued lens. Made the hour and a half drive out to Squamish to meet up w/him today and am now the proud owner of this. Aesthetically speaking it looks pretty horrible with all the paint scratches and the lens hood that doesn't hold properly due to broken latches, but the glass is in fantastic condition... and was at a price I couldn't refuse

I've created a monster. A money-sucking, manual-focus, bulbous-nosed monster named Canonstein.

Snagged a Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di-II LD Aspherical [IF] Autofocus for a good price today.
Then, traded my Tamron AF70-300mm F/4-5.6 LD MACRO (Model 772D) the silver model for the newer Model A17.
Hey. At least it's black.

I "went shopping" yesterday... and am now awaiting arrival of the same Tamron 17-50mm model; an FA 20mm f.2.8; and the FA 31mm f.1.8 Limited. When the stars align just so... it might be wise to take the hint and act. Or so I figured: 100 snaps (two outings) on the latter; and its beckoning whisper began sounding like a roar.

New Kit

I could never afford any long primes and Tamron,in its infinite wisdom decided not to make a Pentax mount for the 150-600 mm zoom. So I picked up a slightly used Nikon D 300 and a Tamron 150-600 mm for a reasonable price for wildlife and birds to go along with my K3 and Ltd's for landscapes. Just picked up the lens so will be testing it this weekend.
