Digitalis, you should start a blog, I'd love to read about your photography wisdom

Or, maybe, it would ruin me too...

He should put pictures of his pelican cases full of FA legacy glass and have people lust over them, guaranteed to get more traffic that PF for sure.

A previous owner of these speakers was obviously a smoker.
Dirtex cleaner easily remove the coating of tar on the cabinets.
Lo and behold underneath it all the vinyl finish was like new.

Here's what they'll look like - once I get some houseplants! :

You can see the down-firing woofer in the gap at the bottom of the cabinets.
They have good bass and a very well-balanced sound in a small speaker.

Chris
I bought a used power regenerator for the audio system that stunk of smoke. I left it outside for a day and voila! Smell gone.

K-3 buy on eBay

I just bit down hard and got the top of the line. Brand new K-3 on eBay with free shipping: $859.99. Expected to receive 10/02/14. I will be waiting to try on the FA 43 and FA 77. Seller is "quickndone" if anyone else is interested. Now I gotta some fast cards because the camera has two places to put them!

The K-3 is selling low for some reason - but without any warranty I guess that justifies it......

A fridge.

After a few discussions over the past couple of months with the good folk at Freestyle I realized that stocking up on Arista Premium was a good idea. After reading an account recently that indicated Arista and Kodak had reconciled and struck a deal I asked (again) about where the the situation stands today. Nothing has changed. Arista Premium 400 is discontinued and once the current supply is sold it will be gone. Full stop. So, with that in mind I sacrificed the remainder of my 2014 photography budget...

I've got to learn to stay away from eBay. I'm now waiting for a Takumar-A 2x Tele-Converter to show up that I put a stupid low bid on not expecting to win. I'm hoping it will play nicely with my Tak 135mm f2.8 and manual SMC 50mm f2.

Been watching the price on a Canon 70D to replace the 40D. Best I've seen is $999.99 over the last several months.

I just received a combo deal of the 70D, Pixma-100 Pro 13 x 19" printer (it weighs 43 lbs), 50 sheets of paper, slinger bag, and 32GB card for $1149.99 minus $350 rebate = $799.99 final price. I'm selling the printer to a co-worker for $100, so the body, bag (may sell) and card (don't really need another) cost me $699.99.
