Yep, it's really impressive--both as an object and an optical instrument! And you're right: a flush of serious stuff in the marketplace but my impression is that it's moving slowly. Do I detect gravitational waves generated by FF? ;~)

It took the largest radio receiver ever built by man to detect those waves. I don't know what that says about Pentax and the FF. <|;-)

Fractal Design Define R5. It was on offer, and a case I wanted for quite a while now (the realistic kind of want... there are other cases I'd want, but my hardware wouldn't be able to fit, and they are really expensive). I just finished moving my computer into it... noise levels are clearly down. I already tried to dampen my old case, but the new one is much more solid, and has bitumen everywhere.

If you want a well built case, with rather elegant and sleek design, and a wonderfully flexible interior that lets you really fit in a lot, then this is it. Few cases are able to fit as many radiators as this one, unless you go for a bigger one.

I also bought a nice standing lamp that looks and works like a tripod, a couple of LED bulbs with Ra95, including one that can be dimmed by turning it on and off, one that supports dimmers and one that looks like an incandescent bulb. There are strips of LEDs inside the clear glass bulb.

And finally the Kubrick Masterpiece Collection. Still need to get a Blu Ray player, but it looks good, and it contains a nice book containing script excerpts, letters, sketches, ...

Oh, and I've gotten access to a DJI Phantom 3 Professional.

Will have to start learning how to fly the thing...

I just bought a Benro MA37AL Aluminum Tripod and a LensMaster gimbal mount for bird photos. The Benro is a brute (I wrote a review) and very stable. I like that it has just 3 leg sections for rigidity. I came with a very nice carry bag.

The LensMaster has to be ordered from England - I believe it might be a side business for the guy who makes it. It is a very solid gimbal with sintered bronze and needle roller bearings. It comes with an Arca-Swiss mount and 2 different length mounting plates. I will use it with my Bigma, but my guess is that it is strong enough for a 5000 mm lens. It costs about US $245 and took 8 days for delivery.

My next purchase is a cheap, aluminum frying pan to transform into a ground-pod for low level shots at shore birds.

I have a large, solid wood cabinet for my photography gear (that my Mom crafted as a bday present!), and the thought of moving (which will likely happen in the next few years) makes me cringe at the thought of moving it. Esp since it is up a flight of stairs.. Getting it up was a chore and a half. Very not fun.

I will probably hire movers just because of the weight (around 400 lbs) when the time comes. But I really appreciate having it! My most prized piece of furniture.

At the moment I'm looking for cheap medium density foam to fill the drawers. I want to make cutouts of my lenses to give them a snug bed.

An Auto Revuenon 50mm f/1.4. It seems fairly dreamy from wide open to f/2, pretty sharp at f/2.8 and very sharp indeed by f/4. Condition and handling are great and it looks very handsome indeed on my K3

I don't think you are going to have a problem. The hardest moving we have had was into this house with an 800 pound 1903 Busch & Gertz upright grand piano AND 600 pounds of 1952 J.C. Hallman Model 12 organ AND 100 pounds of speaker cabinet for the organ. The movers were not happy with us.
