Did Asahi make lens filters?
Sure.

Another

The Asahi Opt. were very early, pre-Spotmatic, and the bayonet style for 6x7, then they were Asahi Pentax for most of the K mount period and finally just Pentax.

They made everything.

Asahi/Pentax also makes telescope (refracting) and eyepieces for astronomic telescopes that are moderately well respected.

I thought the telescope factory was destroyed in the Fukushima earthquake, thus ending Pentax telescopes.

Not to mention the dental equipment, including my now unused M 100/4 with the dental scales printed on it.

I down right guarantee the thin mint smu is tastier than any skylight filter
Depends whether you prefer "soft and tasty" or "thin and crunchy"!

Just had a notice from eBay that tokina 20-35 3.5 af was available for very reasonable price, jumped on it immediately. Waiting for arrival, hope it's as good as people say it is! 20-35 seems a perfect addition for my dfa 28-105 for a perfect walk around kit.

PHB 77 mm

Replaces hood that saved my DA* 16-50/2.8 in a fall. It sacrificed itself in service of a loyal Pentaxian. May it Rest In Pieces.

And here I was thinking a SMU was either a university in the southern USA or an old blobby amorphic white thing cartoon character from decades ago... <GRIN>

*My* latest acquisition is one of these for my kayak:

I got a PS:35 for my birthday IIRC around 1986. It was my first 35mm camera. I gave it to my cousin years later. I probably should have asked my aunt if it was still around...This was the second purchase on evilBay, the first had corroded batteries in it (no mention of that in the listing )

So, does this one work?

I haven't tried it yet, but it looks pristine. Came in a pink camera case and included the instruction book...

Edit: I had to clean the battery contacts with an eraser, but it does work. Now to run some film through it...

Bellows for my Spotmatic F

A Lentar Bellows for M 42. Looks like NOS, the box is a little rough, but you don't shoot with the box. Should go well with my Spottie F with its 28mm f 3.5, 50mm f1.4, and 135mm f3.5.

Waiting eagerly for my AsahiFlex IIa to return from Eric Hendrickson's healing hands.

My latest acquisition is 2 SMU's! My girlfriend came back from a trip yesterday and about an hour ago she pulled out of her purse and handed me two thin mints. I couldn't wait to photograph them with my last acquisition from 2 days ago, a Mamiya Sekor 55mm 1.4. So here they are in all their glory. You can see they are exactly 2 smu's tall.
