a few freebies, a bag with 10 film cameras, mostly old plastic point and shoots but there was a yashica T4 (in great working order) and a TDC Stereo Colorist II with rodenstock lenses (needs a serious CLA) , the same person cave me somewhere in the region of 50 assorted art books (she collected over the years working at galleries)..

Got the D FA 55mm

I got a used Pentax-D FA 645 55mm f 2.8 used in original box, lightly used, nice price at $500. I am pleased to have another weather resistant lens in a convenient focal length. I am very pleased with preliminary results, and here are a few shots in early morning light, just maybe 30 minutes after daybreak.

The big brown truck brought a little brown box of goodies today.

1) A battery grip for my K1.
2) A Yongnou YN585EX Speedlight for Pentax Cameras. Larger than I thought. Works fine. It is not going to get a lot of work so I went inexpensive.
3) 12 Eneloops AA batteries plus a charger.
4) A Vello off camera TTL flash Cord.

Wow, I miss No.1, but all the others correspond to last week's (or sligthly older) purchases.
Already got the Yongnuo (great for its price!) and the Eneloops for my wife. The off-camera cord has just been mailed.
I found two kinds of cheap P-TTL compatible cords, one I think is like yours, available under different names (or no name at all), and another one that looked nicely made but was available only from a polish seller. I chose to buy the cheapest one from China, cause it comes super fast and I never pay import taxes.

Regarding battery grips, I already own a Pentax and a third party one for other cameras.
The K-1 is the first Pentax camera that offers no choice. A cheap chinese knock-off was never released, and very likely never will.
Not an encouraging signal, isn't it?

Cheers

Paolo

I don't consider the lack of a cheep Chinese knockoff a bad thing. The Pentax one is well made and fits great. No doubt more robust too. One thing for sure, the camera becomes a best when it is installed. It is a tool that will last me several years so I figure buy once, cry once. Sales of the K1 have been very good for Pentax. Maybe the company that makes the cheap knockoffs never sold that many of them for the K5 or K3 and decided not to make one for the K1.

I own few cheap Kapaxen knockoff batteries that "work" in my K5/K3/K1 cameras. They only last about 200 shots. Plus, they don't hold a charge worth a darn. For that reason, when going remote, I use them first and then switch to Watson or Pentax batteries. Watson batteries are okay, but still not up to Pentax quality.

I bought a Pentax grip for my K10 included with the camera in a kit (with the 12-24, too!) and when I bought my used K-3 I bought a new Pentax grip to put on it. I did not even consider 3rd party grips. Weather sealing alone is enough, but the increased reliability of 1st party accessories is even more important to me.

128GB may be a bit much for photos only (I'm not planning on shooting 4k anytime soon) but I got it for a good price and I've gotten used to using my empty cards in place of USB sticks.

And with a bit of luck, I'll be getting two rather good tripods for a ridiculously good price

Rollei had their "Rock Solid Beta 180" & "Rock Solid Gamma 180" tripods on sale (on Amazon & Ebay, both sold and fulfilled directly by Rollei) for 49€/69€ (Aluminium/Carbon) yesterday (normal prices are 249/399€for the Beta and 199€/329€ for the Gamma).
Not sure if they're were trying to clear some overstock in a hurry or if it's a mistake but they have started fulfilling orders so I'm rather hopeful that I'll get what I ordered (1 Beta Carbon & 1 Gamma Carbon).

They might be a bit too big for me (something like a Sirui T-1204X might be a better fit) but they're certainly better than my current Induro A114 (aluminium, 24/20/16/12mm leg diameter, the Rollei tripods are 28/25/22/19mm and 31/28/25/22mm)...

Those tripods seem a steal.

Picked up a 43" LG 4K TV with IPS panel on sale for USD 299.95 plus tax. Has couple shortcomings but for what it cost it is great as a monitor so far.

I'm not quite sure about the design, the 180 version's y-shaped center column makes it quite slim but unlike with the normal version the legs can't be folded over for storage.

Beta/Gamma 180 folded height: 570/545mm
Beta/Gamma folded height: 515/475mm

Beta vs Beta 180 (not scaled correctly):

EDIT:
At least according to the 'Rollei Social Media Team', the tripod sale was on purpose and all orders will be fulfilled without delay.
No idea why they would be in such a hurry to clear overstock, they could easily have sold the same number for double the price in a similarly short time period.

One Ebay account bought 114 tripods (out of 329 sold through Ebay), I'm slightly annoyed now that I didn't buy more than two (the Beta Carbon shouldn't be hard to sell for at least 250-300€).

EDIT2:
I got confirmation from Rollei, the tripods are shipping today and should arrive next Monday or Tuesday:

Fingers were crossed when I bought from eBay in the States an ancient Canon FD 300mm L f2.8 to put on my Sony A7. What if I'd been sold a pup?

I'm a happy camper!
