No luck in shops etc. today, and probably won't be much coming up over the weekend because we have snow and the markets and car boot sales will be very minimal, but I did get one good (I hope) lot on ebay - a "small job lot of vintage cameras and bits" that included what appear to be three polarizing filters, two exposure meters, a flash, some other filters, a small enlarging lens - and a Helios 44-M! Cost £12.87 including postage, and hopefully will be fairly profitable if the lenses aren't full of fungus - even if they are, I ought to break even from the meters and filters.

Arrived today -

A Cult Classic

Pristine Tamron Adaptall-2 SP 90/2.5 Macro 52B with OEM hood and caps. PK Mount, but I have a PK/A Mount on other Adaptalls. I also have a 52BB with the 1:1 Extension Tube and the 01F 2x converter, so plenty of subject distance possible. This one is a special lens.

Really looking forward to this on the K-1.

Sorry for the poor phone snap, but I just got this setup today! $350 for the K-3, $220 for the 18-135. Can't wait to get back into shooting!

Yesterday I bought a Sigma mini-wide 28/2.8 in SR mount to use on my Minolta film cameras. Seems to be in as good condition as my K mount version.

I also went to pick up some rolls of Superia 1600 I'd ordered but when I got there I found that they were five years expired so I left them.

I couldn't help but laugh at that comment...and the probability that such an offhand comment could likely be the truth.

My walk around setup too I recently got my K3, had a K30 before. I can’t believe the performance difference between the two cameras. The K30 was great but the K3 is on a different level altogether. Happy shooting, and don’t forget to post your pics in the “18-135mm show us what it can do” thread DA 18-135 WR, Show us what it can do - PentaxForums.com

Totally agree. My K3 had 415 clicks but you beat me there. I came from a K30 and am also blown away by the K3

I've got a K30, K3 and K3 II, and they are all great cameras - but each has it's sweet spot. When I need to do some serious stuff then I'll use the K-3's (notably the K3 II for action shots) but when I need something lighter and more portable then I'll take the K30 because it produces some great out-the-camera shot jpg's that need little or no PP.

They usually come with emitters to test and calibrate! So yes there should be radioactive parts in them. Most smoke detectors also have radioactive materials in them.

Just in time for spring bird migration I finally pulled the trigger and bought a DA300. It arrived yesterday, so I'll be playing with it this weekend. I've been using a couple flavors of the 55-300 for a few years and have been disappointed at its distance shots. Even at 300 within 40-50 yards it's pretty darn good. I hope for more with the 300, though it's substantially heavier so we'll see how it goes while walking around.

That's generally Americium which is a very low level alpha-particle emitter - see here on wikipedia

Well used Manfrotto #075 tripod with #136 head.
US $30 for the both.

The tripod is all present and correct....the head was missing the arm and hex adaptor ..... 20 minutes in the workshop and now all good.

Too big for a trek but going to be great in the studio !....

Now I have to go buy a ladder...
