Just received a Yashica Reflex Yashinon-DX f/5 500mm, with serial number 5050008...I'm guessing they didn't make too many of these, but do I really have number 8?

I've made a (rambling) thread with a couple of rough and ready images (of the lens, not with...yet) in the lens discussion forum, as this seems to be a fairly unknown lens...I certainly couldn't find too much on it...

Cheers
Dean

Latest acquisition

I pulled the trigger a few days back on a nice Pentax-FA 645 150mm f 2.8 from a colleague forum member, and now watching for it arrive on my doorstep at any moment. I already had the A version, but wanted auto-focus capability. This should be a great lens for tighter portraiture

The 150mm arrived today, in box with all caps, hood, paperwork, all original packing materials. Lens appears new with no dust or smudges. Nicest condition of any lens ever purchased other than new.

Congrats mattb! Where were you from initially?

I can't imagine giving up my German citizenship, way too many benefits.

I bought a dehumidifier. Very exciting.

And a couple of lens caps etc., because my old ones were worn out, and Panasonic was too cheap to supply 2 lens caps in a kit with 2 lenses and one camera.

Oh, my! A Nikon F2

In my continuing effort to pauperize myself, I scored a black Nikon F2 with the DP-1 viewfinder. This F2 is used but not abused, a few small dents, some brassing, all appropriate to a pro-level camera. Wind-on is smooth, shutter sounds good. Solid and heavy, it seems to be the proverbial hocky puck. To accompany it I scored the 50 mm f 1.4 and a 35 mm f 2.8. The classic 105 mm f 2.5 is on its way. With it and my Nikon S2 outfit and a Jeep I'm ready for my "war correspondent" role. Please, hold the gunfire!

Can't believe how big the SMC 67 55/4 lens is. It's bigger than a beer can in a coozy. It dwarfs my K mount primes. Feels like it should have a part in the new Rampage movie.
Here's the SMC 67 55/3.5 I sold a while ago - don't know how they compare.

I think it was about the heaviest lens under I've sold apart from really big telephotos and zooms. Didn't think to include a ruler in the photos, unfortunately.

Front element is bigger for sure, but either way, both are large and in charge.

P67 to P645 adapter

I just received from Japan a copy of the original Pentax adapter to fit Pentax 67 lenses on all the 645 series of cameras--645, 645N, 645D, and 645Z. I have not yet found that it does anything different than the cheap
Chinese adapter I have been using, but it definitely is better made and looks nicer.

Well, that explains the accent.
