My new (to me) Samsung NX1 with 16-50mm f/2.0-2.8 and 50-150mm f/2.8 lenses arrived over the weekend. I have been too busy taking pictures, didn't have time to post about it until now.

Here is a one of my first tests, straight out of the camera.

Ah the fabled meteor... a camera with very good specs, ground-breaking in some cases (e.g. h.265 encoding), but Samsung bowed out before its true potential could be realized.

It intrigues me... especially after they stopped producing it... must be the aura of mystery
Picture is nice

I haven't photographed it yet, so here's a link to the manufacturer's website:

Fender Deluxe Telecaster® Thinline, Maple Fingerboard, Candy Apple Red

Okay - it was a 20" fan but it is near the center of the living room and it does move air around.
Our friend lived in the village of Lewiston near you a few years back. She grew up in the area and had lived near us and worked with my wife. In any case we went up a few years ago during a heat wave. I had to drag a massive window AC unit out of the basement to make the house more liveable for her for that season. Sheesh.

I live in Arizona where one doesn't dare live without central air. In fact you can't get an fha mortgage on a dwelling without a.c.

I bought some French advertising pages from magazines ... 15€ for the four delivered together and for the general Pentax collection. Maybe to be posted in the darkroom.

That is one of the parts of the US I was talking about when I posted earlier about how ac had changed where people now choose to live

without ac being available some parts of the US would have much less population

As part of a recent make over, a new lens case and computer desk.

Mrs. Racer wishes my computer desk was that small.

And that I only had one computer.

So interesting to see those old advertisements. If you run across any, look at the old ads for Miranda. For a time they associated their name with beautiful Miranda of the "Tempest."

Fitted my new haring aids yesterday. $1,900 at CostCo compared to $4,900 at the local Audiologist. The local Audiologist is 30 Km (20 mi) way, CostCo is in Lethbridge, 185 Km (115 mi) away. I can make a few trips for the difference. This trip was necessary to replace leaky rear axle seals (294,000 Km/180,000 mi) and the rear brake shoes contaminated by the leaks. C$985 so the travel was "free". Filled up at CostCo at C$1.35 for premium, $1.57 here, so that cut the travel costs a bit.

After posting in the "Price Watch" forum re Lomography's half price deal (in the UK, at least), I picked up a new copy of the MC APO Telezenitar-M 2.8/135. It arrived a couple of hours ago, and I'm happy to say this 2012 model is almost identical to the earlier 2003 copy I own from the first production run, with very minor cosmetic differences:

- body is engraved "MADE IN RUSSIA", in large enough lettering that spy satellites could no-doubt read it from space
- font on the front ring is slightly bigger and all characters take up equal space, which means that the "I" in "TELEZENITAR" looks like it has big gaps either side of it
- focus distance markings are in yellow instead of white
- front cap reads "ZENITAR" in both Roman and Russian cyrillic lettering, instead of "ZENIT" in Roman

Other than that, it really is identical... Oh, except the new one is for export with English naming, and my older copy is a domestic market model.

I'll keep both copies for now until I finish the project I'm (very slowly) working on, then decide which one to sell - assuming, of course, I can bring myself to let one of them go
