I have the same Yashinon. Mine is the f1.7 and it is incredibly sharp. They are also beautiful lenses

I have the Chinon version of the same f/1.7 lens. Still have to properly test it, I expect the same very high quality of the other fifties, and of the 55mm f/1.4 and f/1.2.
I have both 55mm's in PK mount, with MC. The faster one is one of the best lenses I ever tried. Ever.
I'm starting to believe that you can't go wrong with old Tomioka made fifties...

FANTASTIC lens. Mine didn't have the hood and caps and for some reason the aperture lever had been filed down but the glass is superb, as you will find out shortly happy days
The old Pentax macro 4/100mm is very sharp. Though I found that my example doesn't like strong light sources within the frame. Maybe there is some haze on the inner surfaces of the glasses.

The Tomiokas seem to be stellar. They certainly arent cheap (unless i am missing something) so i sadly won't be building a collection any time soon I also have the auto mamiya sekor 50mm f2 and that is a delight. I am currently using it as my single in lens. I have to say though that pepperberys komine looks rather wonderful.

New reading glasses

I wear bifocals and do a lot of reading. I just got my first set of optically good reading glasses.

Two new pair of prescription progressive eyeglasses with titanium frames. One pair clear. One pair tinted. Only $1005! And that is enough LBA for me for awhile.

That sounds like a complete rip-off. Do you have a complex prescription?

Progressive lenses are expensive and I got a high impact resistant lenses which upped the cost. I like to shoot sporting clays so just some extra eye protection there. Throw some astigmatism into the mix and it all adds up. Second par was 40% off too. Like it or not New York is a very expensive state to live and do business in. But that gets into realms not discussed on this forum and I am fine with that.

My latest was a Pentax Auto Bellows K. I purchased it here from a forum member and am extremely happy.

Are telephoto shooters heavier than their WA shooter counterparts due to higher SMU consumption?

Or are they in fact leaner from all that exercise carrying around those heavier lenses?

And are stale SMUs subject to shrinkage?

Stale SMUs are the result of heretics and fools. But as they take on moisture they likely swell rather than shrink.
