Two old Kodak aluminum 35mm film canisters, yellow with red lids.

I'll keep one at home and one in my locker at work.
Each will hold enough quarters for one round trip to work
via public transportation, in case my old car breaks down.

Chris

A few years ago I was heading to Alaska for a fishing trip with some friends and needed a sling bag for my K3ii--fast! Amazon bailed me out with same day delivery on their Basics bag. For the money ($25!!) it was really solid, and I've enjoyed using it every since. I've been shooting a lot of concerts recently, and have moved to a more compact system. All I need is a body and 2-3 lenses, and they were just bouncing around the bag. Plus, it was bulky, so I was bumping into people with it. After weeks of research (the problem is real, people. How much $$ of my time went into picking out a $90 bag?!) I went into my local camera store to compare the Think Tank Turnstyle 5 & 10. I also had a chance to look at the Mindshift Photocross 13, and despite really liking the bag, it was too big with too many features for my specific need. The Think Tanks are simple and carry exactly what I need for a grab and go bag. I didn't want anything that could carry a tripod, or water bottle, or anything else. Just a body and a few lenses and an accessory pouch. That's exactly what this bag is. I ended up with the Turnstyle 10. I can fit my A7iii with the 24-105 attached in addition to an 85/1.8 and 55/1.8. I could even fit in the smaller 35/2.8 as well, but I don't want my lenses to rub against each other in the bag.

One of the other things I was looking for was a bag that hugged the body and made it easy to maneuver in a crowd without disturbing people. This bag does that. It's slim and comfortable. In short, I'm digging it and look forward to taking out to shoot some shows this week.

Fascinating discussion, not applicable to me, I don't care for IR photos particularly, but fascinating nevertheless.
I do. Really fascinating, and interesting first tests.
I've scooped Marcus' lesson to the last bit.
I love this forum!

Leica accessories can be very expensive.
Fortunately the one I need is quite common.
Its's the OEUPO, later called #16474. It was used as an extension ring to take pictures at a closer distance with the head of the Summicron Canada f/2 90mm on the short throw focusing helicoid that allowed to mount the lens on a Visoflex II or III.
I have a leitaxed Viso>R adapter, the original focusing helicoid, and two lens heads that I removed from the original Leica M barrel: Summicron 2/90mm and Elmarit 2.8/135mm.
Both work great on my K-1, but the MFD is laughable, especially with the 135mm.
With this ring, that takes a minimal space in the bag, I will finally be able to shoot closer subjects with these two wonderful optics.
Bought the ring from Denmark for 12 euros plus (cheap) shipment.
It needs some cleaning, but its usefulness will repay the price a hundred times

Planned to possibly use as a more discrete "Street" lens, but married it up with Takumar 35mm rectangular hood...

You'll note she has already had a dalliance with a Takumar Hoodlum...
Have you thought about making a good from step rings more like the DA 40 type? It would be more street friendly.

No I hadn't, good call, but I've really starting to like the whole retro look and feel of this set up.

A square hood certainly sets you apart for the other kids on the block and gets the odd wee curious look too.

Queen Victoria ( 5' 0 " ) aka Mrs. Brown

she had a reputed dalliance with and marriage to a Mr. Brown, a Scottish servant

I already have "HM The Queen" (SMC Pentax 500mm F4.5) in the Harem, this is a little to close for comfort... especially when she finds out.
