A Plastic Fantastic for 60€ shipping in.

I had very mixed feeling with this lens on the K-x and K5II. I'm looking for a Sigma 35/1.4, but i think i need to make sure i like the 35mm FoV on FF to spend 800€.

I'll see what i think of it on the K1, and see what's the next move is.

Nice. Today I received another Minolta SRT-101 for the lens: A 58/1.4.

Classic Tivoli Model One AM/FM Table Radio

Gift from a member/friend. Already tuned to KMOX AM1120 50,000W Clear Channel for St. Louis Cardinals baseball. As the giver noted, there’s nothing quite like a summer evening laying in a hammock on a screened porch, cold one on the table, ceiling fan on Low, listening to Major League Baseball.

This is the zenith of monaural radios - geared tuner, signal strength indicator, full set of outputs and inputs and absolutely fabulous sound. This is the older legacy pre-iPhone analog model - much preferred!

I like the radio.

My wife got me this for my birthday. It's a table saw with a brake that jams a block of aluminum into the blade if it detects skin contact. There are still six boxes of stuff to bolt on to the thing before I fire it up. Sorry about no SMUs. The main box weighs 381 pounds if that helps. It was fun getting it into the garage by myself.

Looking at the number of people who are purchasing old film cameras, I wonder if anyone has designed a digital back which could be retrofitted to these film cameras? It wouldn't need to much, a basic CCD would take the image, and the rest of the storage gubbins could be either attached to the same package or even wired/wifi'd into a separate unit.

As long as the CCD is on the same plane as the film would have been then everything should work....he said hopefully!

These backs are available for Mamiya and Hasselblad. :>)

I came across this new saw a while back. Although I would not intentionally place a finger in the path of a spinning saw blade, it would be comforting to know the risk of traumatic injury would be nil.

Saw Stop - This guy puts a finger into an active table saw blade & comes away without a scratch! - YouTube
This is really a great thing ! Only drawback : it's a one time use of the mechanisme (the piece that stop the blade is deformed to absorb the choc of the blade). Still a great idea !

I'm now wondering if it's worthwhile going after the K-mount adapter for it. (I'm only paid $20 for it.)

The company that makes Festool stuff bought or merged with Sawstop last year so the saws should be more available in Europe now. Sawstop sued Bosch for copycat technology and won, so the Bosch Reaxx saw was pulled from the market. Sooner or later, all saws will be like this.

When I was a young lad, my father always told me "Play safe with the table saw... it won't even stop to say sorry."

I saw a demonstration of the SawStop at our local Lee Valley -- very impressive. Yours should serve you well. And all of their fence options are first rate.
