I had the 28mm shift back in the film era, used primarily on an LX. Too d--- big to carry about unless I was certain I wanted it for a particular shot. The Canon TSS I had for a few years was more compact, sharper, easier to use, and it had tilt, which I found useful for DOF more often than I needed shift to correct perspective.
Given that I’m different, using the K lens is the whole point . When it gets warm I’m doing a summer project shooting historic homes in St. Louis. K2DMD w/ Refconverter K, LX w/ FB-1/FC-1, and K-1 w/ articulated LCD, on tripod. Carrying the lens won’t be the problem. .

it's electricity isn't coming from WiFi but a battery inside it.
Indeed. The wireless power concept is a nice move towards eliminating multiple plugs and cables and is already there to a limited extent, with some inductive phone chargers doing 15W wirelessly I see, (albeit not via WiFi). Next step: 240V 10 Amps over WiFi No need for wall-plugs or power-boards around the house anymore.

120V !0 Amps AC inductive through direct contact with any surface. Shockingly innovative!

We've moved on from that one, Monochrome.

It's now 120V in big electromagnetic fields from big aerials throughout your home or office.

Now it's a race between us to get the seed capital to Kobie ... I'll begin by selling my car.

Another one in the list of Tomioka fifties:
Auto Yashinon DS-M 1:1.7 50mm.
I have a love affair wih Yashinon-DX lenses because they are usually quite good, and also very well built.
I find them very practical too, cause they have the A/M switch, which allows to quickly shift between wide open and the chosen working aperture.
The DS line has no switch, so you either need to modify the lens, sticking the pin in depressed position, or use one of those black adapters that have a little internal flange that keeps the pin down.
The DS-M family has no A/M switch too, but has an important improvement over the previous series: multicoating.
No other Yashinon lenses in M42 mount are MC.
Successive DSB and ML lenses were multicoated, but had a C/Y bayonet.
This is the reason behind my purchase. I am curious to see how a modern anti-reflection treatment improves the performance of a good design.
I can't wait to test this new (to me) lens, and see how it compares to similar designs, for example Pentax f/1.7 MC objectives.
I tried a couple of Tomioka single-coated low-cost fifties (f/2 50mm) with impressive results. Faster Tomioka's, like the Revuenon 1.2/55mm and Chinon 1.4/55mm, are among my best lenses.

Just had to order a new Samsung N2825ND mono laser printer because the previous one finally died after 4 yrs of fairly hard labour - bought same type as the old one worked well and I have spare consumables and drum units for it.

Should be here tomorrow.

Finally got a lens to stick on the Voigtlander Bessa-L I've had for years but never used (a 25mm F4 Snapshot Skopar) plus one of the 19-35mm F3.5-4.5 Tokina's. Not that I need another wide-angle zoom (I have the ATX-Pro 20-35 F2.8 already) but it was cheap!

Indeed! And no need for a heating system because anything metal in the house will grow quite toasty!

(There are already some startups that are trying to make food warmers that work on inductive phone charger plates.)

my SMC Pentax-DA 70m F2.4 Limited has arrived

once again buying an " experienced " lens from a forum member via the market place has been a good deal for me

SMU used for scale and then returned to the freezer [ darn diet ]

Just picked it up this morning brand spanking new. For AU$230 it's a good price while there is still stock available. Had a quick try to make sure everything works, O npw need to conduct a more in-depth analysis to work out the difference in focus distance and magnification between "Normal" mode and "Macro" mode.

And I apologise for no SMU, my stock of Tunnocks caramel wafers has been depleted and no re-stock is currently scheduled. And seeing as I've now exhausted my lens budget for a while this will be my last latest purchase for a while.

Just sent some money to Russia. The 100mm f2.8 Trioplan should start its long journey to Canada on Monday. Thank you, @cyberjunkie!

LBA Auction attack style :I won an auction for a SMC Pentax-A 300mm F:4. I am just anxious about the fact that the M* has a better evaluation on PF than the A* (+no Idea about the state of it as pictures were not so detailed).
It should arrive next week.

I believe the M* and A* are functionally identical save for the A contacts. Understand, the individual reviews remarking on low micro contrast bring down the A version’s average rating. Both those reviewers had a tendency to rate consistently, but lower than, the average reviewer.

There might have been a coating update between the M and A to account for the alleged loss of minor detail, but I’ve never heard that. I’d chalk them up to sample variation.

Enjoy your new lens.
