Could not resist.
Yet another Soligor lens, this time in PK mount (most are M42).

Soligor MC Wide-Auto 1:2.8 f=35mm

The lens was advertised as Tokina-made. I am almost sure it's Sun-made.
Can't wait to see how it performs, compared to other more prestigious MF lenses.

Also found another late nineties "silver" Pentax-FA zoom.
It is the 80-320mm.
It has a metal bayonet, just like the exceptional (for the price) f/3.2-4.5 28-105mm.
Even the cheaply made 28-80mm and 100-300mm are decent performers... and cost peanuts!
I want to find out if the 80-320mm follows the trend. All the late Pentax-FA zooms I tried were satisfying, and better than similar previous versions.

Pentax-FA f/4.5-5.6 80-320mm

It's been a while since I posted in this thread...and I finally got some new lights for my light tent...

The C44 needed the turret finder and light meter...

SP II

A nice Asahi branded SP. The battery cover isn't even fused...

Meh...

Really meh...

It has all the usual problems...squeaky shutter/mirror, broken battery door...

FTN. The lens is a Kiron 24/2 with bad aperture...

FT2

The last Konica AR camera. Made by Cosina. First SLR that had DX...

Another Star Wars camera...

Probably a shelf queen. No battery cover...

Cool P&S. Minolta Hi-Matic AF2. First one to have active IR AF. Runs on AAs...

My addiction is so bad that I'm even acquiring 126 cartridge cameras...

Not top of the line, but Made in Germany

This doesn't include the non-working SLRs (4), or the light meters (another sign of addiction)...

Patiently awaiting a 135/2.8 Spiratone (Zebra). Preset, maybe M42 or T-Mount. Finally my first zebra... as to what I've read, it is Sankor made ("E" at end of serial).

Looks dirty, so will post a pic of it upon receiving and cleaning (hopefully my experience is better than my last).

Nice P&S. My wife had one of those and absolutely loved it. In fact, it was the last camera that she actually liked and has complained bitterly that every camera since the Hi-Matic was worse.

The Hi-Matic had instant AF -- you pushed the shutter button and it took a focused picture with seemingly zero-lag.

I've got one of these sitting on a shelf - bought it new and ran a roll of film through it a while back...

an awful time, truly awful...

Not strictly an "acquisition" but a U3A colleague pointed out to me that there is a still a "backdoor" free upgrade path from Windows 7 to Windows 10 "Download Windows 10" ( Download Windows 10 ) .

I was very doubtful that it would work but he said that he'd upgraded an old W7 m/c a week ago and the process didn't even ask for the Product Key - so I had a go with my old Acer X275 Win 7 Pro desktop, and that did actually work, and again without asking for the Product Key, (albeit at the 2nd attempt after it hung in a "looping mode" 1st time around.), and so it's now running Win 10 Pro.

OTOH, it then did lots of further updates (and reboots!) and then I had to use O&O "ShutUp10" to close down a lot of Microsoft "spying" stuff. Then had to spend the last hour or so removing a lot of the unwanted "c**p" Apps that Windows 10 installs without asking (e.g. why would I need 3x Xbox apps or the Camera App, when I don't have an XBox, and the old desktop doesn't have a camera???).

Some of those Apps can be uninstalled via Settings but many cannot - and so I did some digging and found "IObit Uninstaller 8 Free" which managed to remove pretty much everything I didn't need . Uninstaller 8 Free kept nagging me to buy a subscription - but I ignored that because I will hopefully not have to use it too much again. Just a question, not a criticism, but why did you leave Win 7? I'm using Win 7 Pro in a virtual machine on my MacBook Air.

I had an Argus C4 once; that's a C44 with fixed 50mm lens.
It had by far the loudest shutter of any camera I ever owned,
louder even than my Nikon FM2n. It sounded like a gunshot.
