hopefully I'll get more at another two boot fairs tomorrow.
Yeah, right. Nasty day - wet and miserable - and most of traders stayed home. Nothing photographic at all unless you count an iSight firewire webcam for £4, apart from that all I got was a timer for my corn snake's lighting and a replacement light bulb for my fridge.

Just bought another weird Itorex 50mm f1:40 (yes really 40!) lens on eBay - I had one a couple of years ago and experimented with it a bit, but I was limited by not having the original f40 stop so I had to make my own stop disks and wasn't sure they were the right thickness. This time it has the disk, so I'm going to measure it as accurately as I can and get one of the "cut metal and plastic shapes to order" companies to make me a couple of dozen blank disks, and experiment with stop sizes, multiple holes, etc. Cost me £9.50 inc P&P, I think it's worth it for the entertainment value.

Some pictures from the last time I had one here:

Itorex 50mm f40 Test | Flickr

Waiting on another auction for a couple of lenses to end, nothing special but fairly cheap since there are currently no bids with 30 minutes to go.

later: Got them - two Clubman lenses for Olympus, both boxed and allegedly in perfect condition - 28mm f2.8 and 80 - 200 f4.5/5.5, cost £15 inc P&P. It's a charity sale so I won't be too worried if I don't make a profit.

I just won a K-r + kit lens on ebay for a very good price. It was advertised as "For parts or not working", because:
"When turn on flickering noise, would be easy to fix, other than that works fine and takes amazing photos.".

Fingers crossed the seller just didn't know what sensor shake dust removal is. Apparently the K-r is quite vigorous in it's application...
K-r/K-30/K-70 all do that - should be a good buy . OTOH, I do have to say (from experience!) that the K-30 (and later models!) is a big step up from the K-r in IQ terms.

I had that K30 16MP SONY sensor in a Ricoh GXR 28-84 Lensor unit a few years ago, and very nice it is too. The less densely packed 12MP K-r sensor is good at high ISO work for this price, and the K-r body weighs quite a bit less than the later full pentaprism models too.

I bough a Kr to give to a pal but haven't gotten up to see him yet so I play with it on occasion and I really like the image quality and am surprised how good 12 mega-pickles looks!

I have never seen these before and had no idea they existed. The one in the link below looks a bit heavier duty but is more expensive and with no reviews.

What I do is force the thread more-or-less back into position with pliers and then force an empty filter ring onto it to provide a smoothly-working filter ring. I know, it's not exactly the best solution but it's worked for me.

Sweet.

Had a good month. Started off with a WR 55-300mm, mint for £140, then I got a 35mm limited, holy Mary mother of god it is stunning, next I got a Pentax 50-200mm WR. I had one and was underwhelmed so i sold it. I soon began to wonder if I had given it a chance. I finally got another this week for £50 in fabulous condition. The first thing I did was calibrate it. Since then I have used it several times and it is very good indeed. £50 for a WR walkaround , happy days. Then today I got a 70mm limited. Not tried it yet, that is tomorrows job.

Sharp. Sharp. Sharp
If you have macro tubes (or bellows) it's a perfect solution to reproduce drawings or documents, digitise old slides, or take pictures of small objects, up to 1:1 reproduction ratio.
On eBay you can even find adapter rings that allow to use the lens reversed, to break the 1:1 barrier and still retain impeccable image quality.
Give it a chance as taking lens, you won't regret it

looks like new, haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

Lens came with some reversing rings. I'll definitely give it a shot as a taking lens at some point. Tbh, I'm super interested in enlarging these days so it might take a while to get to it, but I will!

Finally my Spiratone/Sankor 135/2.8 arrived after being shuffled in the mail since past Friday.

It is a heavy one! 3 groups with either 4 or 5 elements (single elements at either end, with a big cemented group in between of at least 2 elements)... some reading suggests a Sonnar design derivative. Only downside is that there is some specs within the middle group (elements 2 and 3 front to back) - this cannot be remedied - it can be seen a bit in the last picture below. Nevertheless some bad samples taken reveal no effect on the images from the specs. Also, I counted 16 blades...

Shots of the lens, without AMU as there is no stackable choco-goodies in the apartment:

Extra points for the silver Tmount-M42 adapter it came with.
