I was very good today though. Went to LCS to get some film processed and drop aforementioned cameras off for service, and in spite of it being an Alladin's cave of gorgeous old film stuff and there being 3 or 4 very tempting items for sale, I managed to walk away without damaging my wallet..... But that Panagor 55mm f3 Macro in M42 and Minolta SR1 I saw are definitely tugging at me.

if I am not mistaken, that Panagor is the same lens (but an earlier version) as the Vivitar 55mm f2.8 Macro.....

I believe you are correct. The only thing stopping me from buying it is I have had a Fujinon 55mm F3.5 Macro for a couple of years now still waiting to be used on my M42 cameras. This situation is about to change as I have stocked up on some Ektar. I already have quite enough 50-55mm lenses for close up use on my K3. Which reminds me I best get down to some shooting.....

Sweet! The MX with winder is a lovely package, fits the hand wonderfully. Just be careful of the little hatch for the AA cells on the winder. If the threads strip out.... Poor design, IMHO. The battery tray for the ME Super's winder is better. If the manuals weren't included Mike Butkus can help. See his site orphancameras.com If you use it send him a few bucks so he can continue his wonderful work.[COLOR="Silver"]

I love it, cleaned up really nicely too. I already shot 2 rolls with it. It has the manual for everything including original packaging for everything, AND the proof of purchase. Amazing.

The winder is kaput. The previous owner left alkaline batteries in everything for 30 years, so a lot of the electronic devices are corroded beyond repair. There were other flashes that didn't make it, along with a digital camera. I also just discovered at the bottom of the bag a Nikonos II underwater camera and a Sekonic underwater light meter! Sweet!

Should you be interested in taking the Nikonos for a swim, this gentleman can make certain it is watertight. Underwater camera repair by Southern Nikonos The underwater meter may also want servicing. Too bad about the winder, they are generally inexpensive, though.

Two reasonable car boot fair days

Yesterday the big photographic haul was a Bower x2 converter in Canon EF autofocus fitting - won't take the EF-S lenses for APS-C but there are lots of EF lenses out there. That came with a Celeston telescope adapter for £7 the lot. Also got a couple of big FireWire disk external disk drives for £12, haven't tested them properly yet.

And today I got a Braun Paxette rangefinder 35mm camera (the old interchangeable lens model with 2.8 45mm lens) with a sticky shutter at slow speeds but otherwise good condition for £6 and a working Canon Eos 300 35mm SLR with 35-80 4-5.6, caps, instructions and three very old rolls of Kodak 400TX film for £8, which is another nice seller.

I just won an auction from Japan for a Sigma 180mm f3.5 macro! I think my LBA flare-up has been quenched for a while.

Stepped into an antique shop today. Spent US$5 on a roll of Kodak 620 color film - could care less about film that that been sitting on a shelf for at least 38 years. I wanted the spool and backing paper. I can reload with 120 film and resurrect my much older Kodak folding cameras. The perspective and tonality is unique - which I discovered too late as film was discontinued leaving me with a single spool and no backing paper.

I also spent US$31 on a seemingly mint Pentax ZX-50 body mounted to a like shape Vivitar Series 1 28-210 AF lens, and included a couple Minolta mount AF zooms. The only thing I wanted was the Vivitar lens. I'll sell the rest this spring. I know 1990's optical capabilities really weren't up to zoom ranges that large in an affordable lens, but we will give it a try for snapshot situations.

Today's pawn shop bargain; a Zenit E in ok condition with a Helios 44-2 for £12 - not exactly my best ever, but it'll make a profit.
