It's the new stuff. I'm trying it for the first time.

I haven't shot any slides since I sent my last rolls of Kodachrome to Dwayne's nearly ten years ago.

The last two weeks of my thrift store were kind to me ... for 5€, an excellent Pentacon 135/2.8 in M42. This is the model with all those pesky blades ... like 15 of them or something like that.

And hold on to your hats ... for 4€, a like-new cosmetics Leica CL with a Summicron C 40/2 plus original case. The meter is way off and the rangefinder prism is not visible since all of the reflective surface flaked off. These are two typical problems with the CL from what little I have read to date. Notice that the zipper tab is a paperclip.

Four euros and in the "junk" camera bin (!) ... I could not believe it, and I have already shot two rolls for B&W with it.

Lens arrived with stuck focus ring... I got it because it came out well in a lens test from the early eighties and it's a Komine.

on closer inspection it has fungus too and aperture doesn't entirely close, but that may be by design as it is only visible through part of the zoom range.

5x 60mm I/D rubber "O" rings in the hope that they might fit snugly around the K/KA-to-body mounting area when the lens is fitted to the body in order to improve water/"weather" ingress (especially for non-WR/AW lenses like my Sigmas) - and they actually do seem to do that quite nicely.

Only downside noted so far is that they fall off when you dismount the lens from the body, and so will probably get lost easily! Good job, then, I bought 5 of them from here for the princely sum of 99p - delivered from China! - if anyone is interested!

  1. Carl Zeiss B50/56 bayonet mount hood in OEM cello bag, for Carl Zeiss Ultron 1,8 50mm. Super hard to find and I paid up for it.
And a B50/56 bayonet adapter for use with screw in filters or non-OEM hoods.

Just arrived from ebay a "macro" generation Tokina AT-X 28-85mm f/3.5-4.5.

Already fell in love with it just while checking to make sure everything is functional..

Appears to be mostly parfocal, even though they never claimed to be. My close focus subject remained in the same focus plane throughout the zoom range with a tiny bit of breathing. No focus breathing at all. Bokeh at 85mm is gorgeous. The mediocre reviews of this lens on the this site don't do it justice. Hidden gem! I'm going to get another one when I find a good deal.

Close focus is 33cm from front element and 45cm from sensor. At 85mm focal length that's fantastic.

WHERE did you order the Ektachrome? My Super Program has been waiting patiently - and I have been getting more impatient. I haven't seen any availability announcements.
