BTW...have fun with the mirror dampener foam...been there, done that...

Steve
The bigger lens is was an Image 135mm f/2.8. Image was the house brand of now-defunct Astral Photo, a Canadian chain of camera stores.
I disassembled it because the aperture blades were stuck and then, after an hour of fiddling, I noticed the heavy haze & spiderweb-like marks behind the front element.
So... I salvaged the screws, the springs and the aperture steel ball before dumping the rest in the recycling bin. I'm sure all this good aluminium will make some fine beer cans.

This morning I’ve purchased a kit of light seals from Jon Goodman for the SRT-101.

I dare say Jon's kits are the best IMHO. His non-stick material is unique and very forgiving, one can hardly go wrong.
Also, the instructions he provides are clear and detailed. Highly recommended.

The DA 50mm F1/1.8 is in my clutches, after being sat neatly in a padded (par)cell over the weekend. Very much looking forward to giving it a run out.

Also, oops! Managed to nab a very clean-looking Pentax SMC-M 135mm F1/3.5 lens off 'the' auction site. £23 posted, perhaps overpaid, but a good price for a foray into manual lenses (I think). I can always sell it on if it doesn't meet favour!

I bought these cameras a while ago but had to have them sent to my parents' address in the UK and then they were brought over to me in Spain by a friend who visited last weekend. The MX is a real beauty and just needs a new mirror bumper and light seals (easy to do) though I haven't checked the meter yet. The Z-1 is, of course, much uglier but will get me to 1/8000s fastest shutter speed, which will be very handy in the Spanish sun.

I also got an adapter to be able to use M42 lenses on my Miranda camera, although given that the focusing is off on the camera, that won't get any use until I've either dealt with the problem or bought a replacement.

One of the best once you’ve figured her out.
I have a K200/2.5. What works for me is to leave it on f/4. Wide open is not super sharp. And stopping down for more DOF means that the magic bokeh is lost.

I’m not so sure super sharp matters on a K lens; bokeh is partly a function of distances.

I got these three lenses along with a Minolta XG-9. The Tamron has an Adaptamatic Minolta mount. All from the late 1970's I think.

A couple of days ago I ordered a new / unboxed DA L 18-50 - the non-HD version, as supplied with (and separated from) the K-S2 and other kits. Years ago, I owned the best version of the DA18-55 WR but sold it, and ever since I wished I didn't, as there have been numerous occasions where I'd have liked a wide-to-short-tele WR zoom. So, when the 18-50 popped up at a very attractive price from my favourite supplier, I bought one. Sadly, I've had to send it straight back, due to de-centering that made the right side of shots noticeably softer than the left at the wide end. I'm not sure if it was an optical issue, or the result of the slightly wobbly, dual-cam, extending-barrel design. Either way, within half an hour of testing, I confirmed my initial suspicions and packed the lens up for return. Oh well... can't win 'em all
