Thanks Ed. That is on my list of things to do, maybe as early as Thursday or Friday of this week!

I've bought a broken and exceptionally beaten up GH2 on ebay. Anyone interested in a teardown and repair of this abused little camera?

Pentax 100mm WR Macro has arrived safely today. Looking forward to trying this one out! Also, have my eye on something ultra-wide. Have the option to toss up between a 10mm f/2.8 Samyang or a 15mm Limited... both running about the same price. Hmm, decisions.

My 55-300 arrived today so I took it out to take a few quick test shots on the KP. I'm really, really impressed - the autofocus is blindingly fast (at least compared to what I'm used to) and I think it's going to suit my purposes very well. And I got it at a nice discount so win-win all round.

I'm sure I will! I can't wait to give it a good airing!

Re the ultra-wide: The caveat is (a) price (both the lenses I listed are running about the same price, around £200/$240 posted) and (b) size/weight as apparently the 14mm is a bit of a beasty! My reading shows it's approximately 2x the weight of the 15mm... Note also, the 15mm is the non-HD.

Received the big job lot of lenses I was expecting, details as I unpack them

Inura Anastigmat 50/3.5 enlarger lens - looks OK
SMC Takumar 200/4 - fungus city, unfortunately - it has its original caps which may well be worth more than the lens in this condition
Sigma 300/5.6 for Minolta MD - clean and working well
vivitar 70-210 4.5/5.6 for Nikon AI - clean and working well
Centon 28-200/4-5.6 for Olympus - fungus
Sunagor 80-200/4.5-5.6 for M42 - OK
Helios 44-2 58/2 for M42 - slight polishing marks otherwise OK
Tessar 50/2.8 for M42 - slight fungus, but will probably work OK. May keep it for testing converters etc
Kiron 80-200/4 for Minolta MD - fungus
Ricoh 35-70/3.4-4.5 for PK - OK
Prakticar PB 80-200/4.5-5.6 for Praktica bayonet - haze
Petri 135/3.5 for PK - fungus

x2 converters
Aico for PK, haze
Vivitar for Canon FD, OK
Vivitar for Minolta MD, slight fungus
Tokina doubler for PK, slight fungus

Jessops auto tubes for Canon EF - not suitable for EFS lenses, unfortunately

Pentax AF 160 flash - if it works OK I'll probably bundle it with the next Pentax body I sell that's compatible.
A cheapo generic flash - ditto, any suitable camera that comes along
Plus four skylight filters from 52mm to 72mm and two hoods

so about half of the glass with fungus which is a bit annoying but the risk every time on these job lots. I think I'll lose a bit on this one, but hopefully not a huge amount.

Re the ultra-wide: .
I've only had the 100mm 2.8 just under a week and it's quickly becoming my fav lens.
As for Ultra wide, you can't go past the DA10-17mm, it's a must for any outing

Nice to see. I remember seeing those Mamiya 35mm's when they were new and in camera store display cases.

I have a Mamiya 220 Pro F since the mid '80's and three Mamiya-Sekor lenses. They made/make fine photographic equipment.

I use 2 M42s from them - 55/1.8 (silver) and 35/2.8 - great glass.

Able to snagged a LN Canon EF-M 32mm f1.4 lens for half of the original price. Non-Pentax but super happy.

Nothing photographic so far this weekend - yesterday all I got in Portobello Road was a nice pair of stainless steel salad servers for £1, which is something I actually needed. Today's car boot score was two Apple USB keyboards, an Apple firewire charger for early iPods, and a Dymo USB label printer, for a total spend of £20. I think I'll be keeping the label printer, the keyboards are usually very profitable but aren't exactly the stuff that dreams are made of...

Later - unfortunately the label printer doesn't appear to be compatible with Windows 10 or is broken, not sure which - I'll test it on a Mac when I get a chance, find out where the fault is.

Hopefully there were no compatibility problems with the salad servers!
