A Canon P. This is an elegant Leica thread rangefinder. See CameraQuest.com and Photoethnography.com for good discussions of the P and its lenses. My example shows few signs of wear, despite being perhaps 60 years old. I've also scored the 50mm f1.8, a 135mm f3.5, and coming my way a 35mm f2. The P features a stainless steel shutter - no solar burns! - a parallax correcting VF with frame lines for 35, 50, and 100mm lenses, shutter 1 to 1000 speeds. Nice handling, heavy as a proper metal and glass camera ought to be. While a dedicated selenium cell meter coupled to the shutter is available the odds of it working at this age are not good. Sunny f16 and a hand-held meter to the rescue.
I continue to be completely enamored with mine and am jealous of your lens collection. Are those all Canon-made? I have been shooting FSU glass with mine and would love to have a Canon/Serenar 50/1.8, but am not willing to part with the cash to get one in reasonable condition.

Steve, its my understanding that FSU wide angles, while often very good, have a projecting rear element which may interfere with with some internal baffles on the Canon P. Otherwise I would have gone for an FSU wide angle. Apparently their version of the Zeiss Biogon can be killer!
Yes, my lenses are all Canon-made. The 135mm came from KEH and was very reasonable; the 35mm not so reasonable! The 50mm in between. I really wish Canon had gone with common filter sizes! 40mm filters are available, but lens shades seem to be made from Unobtainium. Tim Rice at FilterFind.net is keeping an eye out for a 40mm to Series 6 adapter, but they aren't common. A 40mm to Series 7 with a shade really cuts into the viewfinder. I don't want to use a slip-on because of the risk of scarring the lens. Do you have any suggestions?

You mean like this one?

The reputation is that the Jupiter-12 35/2.8 Biogon clone is both too deep and too wide to fit, but not all Jupiter-12s are made the same. There are multiple variations I opened the back of the P, set the shutter open in "B" and carefully threaded the 1982-vintage J-12 into place. It clears the baffles at top and bottom by about 0.5mm and the film gate by about a millimeter. Versions having a collar might not fair as well, as might those whose infinity calibration goes a little too far inward.

FWIW, the same lens also mounts cleanly to my Voigtlander Bessa R3M, another well-known do-not-do.

Good to know! I'll look for a good deal in a really WA FSU lens. The Canon WAs under 35mm tend to be really expensive, if available. How did you find a Biogon clone that would fit? Trial and error? I have the Voigtlander 21mm for my Nikon S2 and Bessa R2S but I really can't afford another in LTM. Confession: I fear I am becoming a collector. Fortunately I have an understanding spouse, The Lovely Flora, the light of my life. And as Mike, my Main Man at Wings Camera in Atlanta has said, "Photography is an expensive hobby. However. It is cheaper than car collecting, and much cheaper and safer than having a mistress!" Jus' sayin'....

The Cosina Voigtlander 35/2.5 Color-Skopar lens is excellent.
I use one - the only LTM lens I kept - on my CV Bessa R camera.

It comes with a small hood and uses easy-to-find 43mm filters.
If you shop around a bit you can find one at an affordable price.

Chris
I have one for my Nikon S2 and the Bessa R2S Nikon mount camera, plus the Voitglander 21mm Nikon mount. Great lenses! But I can't afford them in LTM.

You meant the Jupiter-12? I bought it to pair with my Zorki-4K and when I got the Canon P, I figured it was worth seeing if it would fit. (There were previous reports from some users on the Web that it was possible.) As far as shorter than 35mm focal length Soviet lens in LTM, I believe the 28mm Orion-15 and 20mm Russar MR-2 are the shortest they go and neither is inexpensive. One might do better with C/V; I believe that KEH has a couple of 15mm Heliar.

Another Canon Eos 500N, this time with case, instructions and a very clean Sigma 28-80 macro lens. Unfortunately the lens is one of the many early Sigmas that doesn't work properly on a digital body, and I think the AF motor is faulty too because it isn't working properly on the 500N. Cost me £15 and hopefully I'll get a couple of quid for the lens for spares/repairs and get the rest of the money back on the camera and case. Not wonderful, but it was the only thing I saw today and maybe I was a bit too eager not to have the day be a complete waste.

Nice bag, but now there are a whole lot of Pentax geeks trying to figure out what all the items are.

Of course we were all wondering what the collection was, Aaron.

A question: why do you carry both the M and FA 50mm/f1.4? I ask because I have both. I cannot explain why I seem to prefer the M version but probably my choice is based on the ergonomics and a sentimental attachment to the 80s engineering.

Mostly because this happens to be my entire collection at the moment. That said, sometimes I just want to shoot fully manual and the M is a beautiful piece of glass.

I went crazy and got 3 Sigma lenses before they're gone:
- Sigma 10-20 f3.5 EX
- Sigma 17-50 f2.8 EX
- Sigma 30 f1.4 Art

I also got the Adorama aversion of the Godox V1. I love it.

No more shooping for me this month. :P

Today's charity shop find - a Praktica LB2 body (one I haven't come across before, it has a selenium non-TTL meter) with Helios 44-2 lens for £15. Neither is immaculate, but I ought to get my money back or better and it's a good cause.

I got this Minolta P-adapter for 3$USD at a flea market. I'll be able to use my Takumar lenses with my SR-T 101 :-)
I think Canon had something similar, but they are much less common. I've had good results using a P-adapter and M42 lenses, even with a silver Tessar that would hit the aperture lever on a proper M42 camera.
