I've always avoided them too, as I have read the same. However I did read that the earlier ones are OK, this one is nice and solid, firm focus damping, and alright, won't be my fav lens by far, but fun to muck around with
The pics you posted are excellent I have a hit and miss chinon 135mm and have also avoided hanimex thanks to the reviews. I don't know why, I picked up a soligor 28mm f2.8 made by sun and that's really nice despite the reviews ....... Really really nice

I sold one of these last week for £50. It was the original not the DDR but they are supposed to be the same. That was a stellar lens but I had a KP to pay for. Have fun with your bargain

More of a re-acquisition = vast majority of my lenses, which were placed in storage since July 3rd of this year.

I survived 3+ months with:

- M 28/2.8

- A 50/2.8 Macro & SMC 50/4 Macro
- A 100/4 Macro & SMC 100/4 Macro
- Rikenon XR 35/2.8 and 135/2.8

Missed most - my M42s

Well I went to Harbor Freight today got:

Two of their smaller "ammo cans" for holding parts for my solar panels and generator.
Five 4-Packs of their microfiber cloths. These things are awesome. 12" (30cm) x 12" (30 cm). They work great on glass etc.

One UV flashlight, Just because I needed a new toy.

All for $20.52 USD.

Some ducktape or a extra pair of helping hands may be needed with certain spots then 😂😂

My latest acquisition is a mosquito bite. Don't think I've ever gotten one in October before.

Another couple of Tamrons on the way - cost me £25 including postage:

A silver Adapt-a-matic 200/3.5 with Pentax spotmatic screw mount
and an Adaptall 70-150 macro with PK mount, which I think is actually Adaptall 2.

Both look pretty clean, I'll know more when I get them.
Arrived today - the 200mm is clean and very nice indeed. The zoom has a little internal dust and its mount isn't PK, it's an Adaptall to Eos adapter, which is something I've been thinking of getting. The zoom was only a fiver and the adapters usually cost more than that so I'm certainly not going to complain.

Four new bushes

We have an 8-acre country place with plenty of flower beds and a vegetable garden. My hobby is flower photography, so we are always watching for new flowers to add variety to the flower photography. Yesterday we picked up four new snow ball bushes (bush hydrangeas), two white and two pink. We also got a used golf cart for my wife to use in her gardening.

ASUS Strix X570-E
AMD Ryzen 5 3600
2x16 GB Ballistix Sport LT 3200 CL16
Adata XPG SX8200 Pro 1 TB
Seasonic Focus Plus Gold 550W

It was time to upgrade the computer. The Ryzen is just a temporary thing while I was waiting for the Ryzen 9 3900X to become available. But the upgrades did help a ton with performance, the system is much snappier. Couldn't be happier, I'm not even sure it makes sense to spend another 300+ on upgrading to the 3900X, apart from editing and rendering videos, which that would absolutely speed up.

Nice! I'm getting the upgrade itch, too. Currently have an i7-4790k @ 4.8ghz, so I'm waiting for Zen 3.

No car boot fairs today since I visited some friends outside London, but while I was in their area I visited the local cash converters and got a very nice Canon FD 35/3.5 and a Vivitar x3 converter in FD fitting for £13. Most of the listings for that lens have it over £70, while I really doubt I'll get that much, since I generally start auctions at £1.99 or £2.99, I'm pretty sure I'll make a profit.
