Two job lots I got for £17 including postage, from a guy who deals in a lot of old lenses but appears not to want to put in the time needed to sell the odds and ends that often come in with them. Lots of junk, but included three sets of extension tubes (M42 auto, M42 manual, and Exakta Varex), an incomplete set of E-mount autofocus tubes, five add-on telephoto and wide-angle adapters for as-yet unidentified cameras, a Sigma 70-210 for C/Y which rattles slightly but I think is actually more or less OK, some sort of cine/video camera lens which I think will only fit a specific camera, a pair of opera glasses that are unfortunately full of fungus, a battery grip for an as yet unidentified DSLR, and twenty odd filters, hoods, etc.

Last time I got one of these lots I made £20 on a single item I expected to sell for £2 or so, I'm hoping these will be as good or better.

No way! I did not know they were still teaching structured programming in Pascal. I am not sure, but I think I still have my Borland Turbo Pascal files archived off somewhere from when I taught myself the language.* It is an amazing teaching tool and when mastered, one's understanding of what the computer is doing and how to write code that reflects that is far enhanced over less rigidly-defined languages. Good luck and happy coding!

I used Pascal only very briefly about 28 years ago. Was easy enough to learn. Then moved on to teach myself C and the C++, which is my preferred language.

Recently found out that a man I knew invented the pointer variable. Only found out in his obituary.

Hello , where could I get that think? Thanks to let me know. Kind regards. J.

Well I found it doing a web search using my favorite search engine, duckduckgo.com (I don't use Google). Hits identified availability on eBay and Amazon, and a few others.

I've got one of these and have been less than enthralled with the results - it's VERY difficult to get the lens rim back to the right shape without damaging the thread. I only use it now for very minor problems, it isn't worth wasting my time with serious damage.

Effective, no cost tool

I use a paint stirrer, split and trimmed to match the curvature, and a hammer.
The soft wood doesn't further damage the filter threads. Works every time!

This weekend's car boot stuff

Yesterday a Pure Evoke digital radio - for £0.50, but it doesn't have a power supply. I'm going to try a few markets etc. before I give in and pay £8.59 for one...

And today a Fujica ST-605 35mm camera (M42 screw) with a nice clean Fujica 55/2.2, a good Optomax 135/2.8, and a teleconverter - got the lot for £30 which is reasonably good for those lenses - then at the second fair I went to agreed to swap the 55/2.2 for another Cinemascope lens, which I will hopefully get next week.

I have one, but you have to be careful using it.

This is because if you apply too much "corrective pressure" to the bent side of the filter rim, the force applied will "push out" and deform the opposing (good) side.

Overall a nice tool that has served me well many times.

For sure, a careful hand, and a good understanding of the forces involved, and a good understanding of metalworking will increase the chances of success when correcting damage from careless handling of these precious lenses.

not necessarily a 'latest acquisition' but a discovery of an older one...…

turns out a M42 lentar 135/f2.8 preset is T-mount....swapped out with a T to K adapter which is great as I prefer the Tmount to m42 seems more secure on camera and no risk of the problems associated with the m42 ring getting stuck on camera

however I am not convinced the proper registration distance is occurring as it focuses well past infinity which is not a deal breaker because rarely shoot infinity with a 135
