My LBA has managed to acquire a Tamron AF 28-300mm F3.5-6.3 LD Aspherical IF Macro 185D lens. Also included the hood and a Promaster UV filter. While it is a bit slower at the long end and hunts for focus a bit in low light, I think it'll work out fairly nicely for a few different situations. Haven't had much chance to really test it out but it will give me some nice reach come soccer season. Definitely will be a bit easier to manage at the long end when I receive my monopole. Unfortunately, it looks like it's arriving on Monday, so I won't be getting it until after the new year as we leave on Sunday for the in-laws in NJ. Will be a bit exciting when I get back as I'll have at least 3 items sitting in my PO box waiting for me.

But for only $25 including shipping, I can't really complain too much at this point.

I've spent that much on something a whole lot less useful. And more.

I think we've all done that.

I use to have a pocketable camera (Olympus stylus 1s) but it was a small sensor so it went to pay for my KP. So, needing something cheap as chips for days when I don’t want to take out 1k worth of Pentax apsc, I started looking at the Fuji x100! For a cute but old and flawed camera those are really expensive! So I got a 16mp Fuji X-E1 and a k&f concept k mount adapter with aperture ring for £129. Rangefinder loveliness rocking my K mount glass! That’ll do nicely

I bought an *ist L off of eBay with a broken screen. Figure I could steal the white solenoids from it in case my I ever need them. For fun took a test shot and uploaded to the shutter count checker here on the forum. 368 actuations on a camera manufactured 9/29/2005. Pretty low use I'd say!

Sounds like the screen broke and the owner didn't like seeing the damage so never touched it again.

I had an *ist DL2 for a couple of years. It did alright until moved on by a K20D. Still have that one as back up to a K3.

For the holidays, I got a Lowepro Gear Up Filter Pouch 100, a Manfrotto Advanced BeFree backpack, along with a host of other things like a shirt. I've also recently bought Blazing Saddles on Amazon.

Not a physical item but got myself a Flickr Pro subscription yesterday. Thought it worthwhile as otherwise I get a ‘mere’ 1,000 uploads!

Once you build momentum you’d be surprised how quickly you upload pictures! I’m over the 500 picture mark already, having started properly uploading around June.

Picked up a Helios 44 today. Thing is mint.
Plus an Imdustar 50-2, seems it's the L39 mount thing, looks like the extension piece they used for the Leica unscrews if I drill out the little grub screw though, otherwise it's a fine macro lens

I like my Tenba Cooper a lot, however that's a messenger bag (that doesn't look like a camera bag... which was crucial for me). Also, since I'm mostly carrying mirrorless gear, weight is not a problem. Size is though, because my new notebook won't fit

As for backpacks... how about Peak Design? They look quite cool, seem to be really practical... I almost bought the Everyday Messenger.
Peak Design are great bags for certain.
I just have no personal perspective on any of them
