. . . I think I found the OEM hood on eBay and I thought using the hood improved contrast and reduced flare.
I have ordered a hood from an ebay seller

have to be careful to get the right one, there are several types for the Series 1 70-210 including a " clamp " one with a screw

made sure I got the 62mm screw in hood

Received the big job lot I was expecting - cost about £35 including postage, I think I'll make a profit but not a huge one.

Centon 500mm f8 mirror lens with PK T-mount - some light fungus and damage to the filter ring but seems to work.
Miranda 70-210 4.5-5.6 - PK, probably for the junk box since it has bad fungus.
Sicor MC 3.5-4.8 35-75mm PK-A - good condition
Centon 4-5.6 70-210mm PK-A - good condition
Sigma 4-5.6 70-210mm PK-A - optically good but has the dreaded black coating problem
Unidentified PK-A 28mm (I think) 2.8 - the front lens surround with the maker's name is missing which is why I'm a bit vague on this one - otherwise good condition
Two no-name PK-M 2x converters - OK
Praktica 1.8 50mm Praktica B mount - sluggish iris, otherwise OK
Ensionor 4.5-5.5 80-200mm M42 - OK
and a Canon x1.4 tele converter for one of their digital cameras, screws on the end of the lens - OK

Not a wonderful haul, but if I list them all at a £1.99 or £2.99 starting bid I ought to come out ahead. Nothing for my own use, unless the mirror lens is much better than I expect - I'll be taking test photos tomorrow.

I just bought a Pentax K2 for the handsome sum of $15. Unfortunately it's a junk camera but it looks amazing. Shutter speed isn't correct, DOF preview button is tough to depress, ASA and exposure compensation rings are near impossible to turn, the timer won't function (it times but doesn't control the shutter) and the winder is a bit funky too. Oh, and the light meter doesn't work but I'm not sure if it's a battery issue yet. I looked up some media to try to repair it but it's way beyond my limited skill set. A Vivitar SL35 is more up my alley. Anyway, I bought it mainly for a still life shoot for class. There was also a MV-1, ME, ME Super, K1000, and a Super Program. There were doubles of 1 or 2 of these cameras but I forget which. To be fair, I wanted to take the K1000, ME and the K2 home but they were all junkers and I only need 1.

Interested to hear your thoughts on it given BruceBanner's recent thread on installing one!

I'm adding my experience to his thread.... I have 2 K1s so can compare between the 2.... great result... even at f1.2.... much better then I can remember on my K5II.... I've been using my SMC K 50/1.2 each day in the single in this month and could not focus reliably through the viewfinder.... have been mostly shooting around f2..... now it's much much easier.... I like shooting via viewfinder.... probably save me buying a EVF camera.

A stack of thin-mint SMU's for that would make any Girl Scout's cookie quota for the day.

Just ordered Miranda 28mm f2.8 and Ricoh Rikenon 50mm f/1.7, it became obsession at this point I'm afraid. I really need to stop buying lenses and just GO OUT with the ones I have, lol.
